Three games, nine points, the burying of a hoodoo and a plethora of players returning from injuries, that was the remarkable week that was for West Ham United! For Hammers fans used to a diet of crash and burn during the latter part of the season, this one is uniquely different. The early season involvement in the Europa Cup was a bit of a poisoned chalice for Slaven Billic and his team, but with players now returning from injury with abundance there are those who are beginning to seriously believe this Hammers side can achieve virtually anything, in fact the bookies have been taking unprecedented amounts of bets on West Ham WINNING the Barclays Premier League! There is a slight caveat, namely most of the bets are each way, with the understanding that nothing short of a miracle will prevent Leicester City from winning, however, they do have to play a rejuvenated West Ham side again. The stunning comeback against Bogey team Everton will have empowered the players, but Slaven Billic will be quick to bring them back to reality, because if he doesn't there could be the risk of complacency, and Premier League opposition take no prisoners, however the feel good factor surrounding the club is infectious and success has a habit of breeding success, so why not dream, it's been a god awful long time since West Ham fans have been able to hold their heads up high going in to work with their 'big club' supporting colleagues and long may it continue.
West Ham 1 - 0 Sunderland
West Ham 1 - 0 Tottenham
Everton 2 - 3 West Ham
and the Sakman is back!
That certainly was the week that was! - Ed
