What a contrast to the beginning of the season

Absolute total, total effort....Fantastic to a man - Looking more and more likely that the team spirit that was vital last season has been resumed - Obiang is looking like he should be first or near first on the team sheet....Excellent!

I agree Harry mate....Keep our fingers crossed but it's going to be tough showing that same effort and intensity for another 45 minutes at least - COYI!!

the result what a great effort but you can be assured all the media will concentrate on is the trouble...headline screamers tomorrow instead of the football

Magnificent performance, we couldn't have given anymore.
Richly deserved victory, gutted Chelsea scored in injury time as a clean sheet would've been nice!
Pity that the scrapping off the field will make the headlines tomorrow though, you knew that this would happen - A shame.

Good on Fernandes! He played out of position last week in pur win v Blunderland and he scored the winning goal gor us today. He is fast becoming a man of great expectations! Great win v Chelsea

I didnt see any of the trouble at the match, I thought it was well organised apart from the long walk back... what happened??

I had to watch the game on Chelsea tv in the afternoon and listen to the Chelsea commentators but it was a fantastic win. The talk in the summer about Obiang wanting out to get more playing time pissed me off a bit but thank god he stayed as I think he is the most improved player this season. It is hard to try and pick a man of the match as every man gave his all and if we keep this up we can all look forward to a good season ahead after the poor start.

Can you imagine the state we would be in if we had got rid of obiang as it was suggested we were hours away from. I don't think he is the most improved, he was never really given the proper chance he should have had last season. Both Fred and myself criticism of kouyate last season on his midfield defence has proved right IMO. Now glad kouyate has moved to centre half where he should have been years ago and obiang is cementing his rightful spot. It now feels like noble is getting the midfield support he wasn't getting before. Great ball from nobes for the first and great move for the second. Payet shooting a bit off today, but was also impressed by the trouble and mobility that big mick had upfront. Looked more like a strong sakho at times! Can't understand why bilic would waste an extra appearance from zaza at the end of that game! He still has his brain dead moments.

Good call about Kouyate - must admit, the back 3 have been solid as a unit for the last couple of games. I think although his passing accuracy keeps him from being a true ball-playing defender, its good to have someone at the back who isnt afraid to receive the ball and look for the next player instead of hoofing it away from danger. Obiang is fast establishing himself as the workhorse midfielder who does the nitty gritty - its not glamorous but vital and as you say, allows Noble to play in those passes! He had a great shot on goal too saved by Begovic

not understand why he brought on Zaza, as at the time we were defending and needed a little help at the back. Great game and as above very hard to pick a MOTM they were all brill. I do think we have a big test this weekend and this will show have far we have come. COYI

He put on Zaza to give more energy (allegedly) up front to allow us to pressure them on the ball further up the field. Thus trying to alleviate the pressure on the back 5

Was at work yesterday when my father in law rang. Thought someone must have died, but it was only victory. Saw the highlights finally last night -- Cheikh's goal (and Noble's cross) are brilliant. Some close misses could have made it about 4-0, though to be fair to Chelsea they had their chances too. Randolph was good. Well done the Mighty Hammers. Slav must be feeling a bit better by now.
