Snodgrass Chooses Hammers Despite Better Offer From Boro

West Ham United have completed the signing of Robert Snodgrass from Barclays Premier League strugglers Hull City, the attacking midfielder will arrive at the London Stadium for an initial £7 Million fee, potentially rising to £10 Million with add ons. The Scotland international passed his medical and agreed personal terms with the Irons on Friday, and has now become the club's second major signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of Jose Fonte from Southampton. Snodgrass had been the subject of offers from Burnley and Middlesbrough, the latter attempted to hijack the deal by offering the same transfer fee and improved personal terms than those on offer from West Ham, but as we had previously mentioned the player had his heart set on joining up with Slaven Billic and his 'post payet' team. Now that West Ham United's odds on being relegated have drifted off the scale, it is time to enjoy how high up the table the club can finish with a punt and maybe one on which of the 'unfortunates' ends up facing the drop.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche had expressed doubts they would complete a deal for the 29 year old despite also having a £10m bid accepted, while Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka suggested his team's position in the Premier League could deter Hull from selling to a rival with the two sides just four points apart, and let's face it, where would most players (and especially their WAGS) want to be given the choice of Middlesborough, Burnley or London?
Hull manager Marco Silva had insisted there was no problem between him and Snodgrass following their semi final EFL Cup defeat to Manchester United, but that the player had made it clear he wanted to leave and as we all know once a player makes his mind up for a move, it will eventually happen sooner or later.
Slaven Billic has adopted a pragmatic and sanguine approach to the 'Payet gate' situation and recognised it is time to move forward in order to prevent the insidious drain on team morale that the once fan's favourite has had, the times they are a changing, perhaps both Fonte and Snodgrass can debut without being injured? Now that would be a first! - Ed

It sounds like we got a fairly good deal - £7m for a seasoned and hard working player with ability is good business in my opinion... obviously he's not getting any younger but as seen at Hull he can still deliver the goods. Lets hope he gets us up to 7th!

In view of a lot of concern from fans at the age of two of our latest acquisitions i think their fears are unfounded ,firstly i think these two were targeted way before the window opened ,remember we were in deep shit at that time and above anything stability was the order of the day and im sure you will agree we have achieved that much ,stability must be our aim even for the next few seasons after that more ambitious outcomes can be considered, im sure that these signings will go a long way to achieving that goal ,its only then that much more prolific players will want to come

Dont know if you can Believe every thing you read Andy Carrol style but I've seen that we bought Snodgrass for 10.2 mill still good business though I ve seen £27.2 +3mill add ons for Payet but Still hav'nt seen an Elephant fly, I think the board are the Dumbos its a right back we want not a left back even if he is a Turkish international Cresswell is playing well this season. I'd be happy if they bought back Glen Johnson back till the end of the season and used the Payet money in summer window.

Regards the age of Snodgrass he is similar age to "The French Player". So not a concern, after all look at the job Teddy did for us!

example of a 'world class' signing ? This transfer window is starting to feel like deja vu.
