Snodgrass

so looks like we've been 'outbid' by Burnley. they have had an offer of 10 mill accepted. Were we really serious about signing him? With Payet gone i believe he would have been a good signing but as usual we wouldn't stump up the cash. can't believe Burnley were prepared to go further than us on this one.

I have to say I'm totally underwhlemd by this possible signing. Just take a step back. Snodgrass? Yes he's had a good half of a season, but Snosgrass? Instead of Payet? He wouldn't get into any of the top seven sides and maybe their squads, but we think he's our answer? Perisic all day fro me, I though he was great in the Euros and step up. Delafeu even, but Snodgrass? For £10 million? someone please convince me

May not be a Top 4 player but he has proven his quality over the years, and transfer fees have gone silly since the clubs were given additional TV money. He would have been a £6-7m player but with 3 clubs bidding the price would be higher. Then we should also look at what we have paid before for untried players in the PL, Matt Jarvis being one of the worst buys we made and he cost us £10.8m before the rise in TV monies! I have wanted us to buy him for a few years as he chips in with goals and could deliver the crosses for Carroll that will cause defences lots of problems mate.

Apparently he played very well and although I know you have your reservations, he is a good player mate and will fit in well. Forget the £10m fee as we were quoted £15m for a Brentford player who has only managed 33 games since 2014 and has never played PL football. Snodgrass is a good signing and the fee is what it is these days.

Watched the match in full and Snodgrass impressed me, never gave up, took players on, tracked back, ran his heart out, he fits in very well.

Good, solid pro snodgrass imo.got a good left peg on him too...
what makes me laugh though is our messing about with our figures...wasnt it a 3 mill bid at first?then a 5 or 6!!burnley go straight in with a 10 mill bid & hes theres....
its like a scene from an auction on homes under the hammer!!
If we were really serious about buying him,why the silly offers, makes us look like bargain basement hunters imho!!

When any of the big 6 want a player they go straight in with a sensible offer and 9 times out of 10 land their man. Whilst the David's bang on about our ambitions to break into the footballing elite they still persist in barrow boy tactics when it comes to transfer market. Snodgrass was good for £10 mill but it seems we are even behind Burnley in the pecking order now.

The Driscoll brothers really do have to get their finger out when it comes to transfers in my opinion Snods is a great deal at 10 mill ,29 years of age is a little late for a midfield / striker to come to fruition but i reckon in todays market 10 mill is small enough

You two boys crack me up. If you lived a thousand lifetimes you couldn't accumulate or create half the wealth they have, yet your ridiculing their negotiation tactics and business acumen. Maybe Snodgrass isn't worth £10 million at 29 and one decent half of a season. He's not going to win player of the year is he?

Our bid has been accepted for 10 million + so that means Snodgrass will choose whether Burnley or us. I think he will choose us.

Looking forward to his first free kick a few yards outside the box. They say he is a free kick specialist either in front or just either side of the goal and pretty accurate.
He had a good game yesterday and fitted in well.

Love his work rate yesterday. Given the definition of "snod" is to make smooth, neat and tidy, he's living up to the family name.
