Iheanacho

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sun, 28/05/2017 - 15:42

apparently. 'apparently' we are in talks to sign him. Man C want 20 mill for him. would be an excellent signing. id eat all my words about the board if we sign him. whether we've actually bid 20 mill or 1 mill is still unknown however.

mcbikeman's picture

but citeh have not said what they want for him but yes he would be a good signing...figures being quoted are£24/5million but maybe more as a few clubs are interested we are just hoping that having zabaletta onboard a player who helped mentor the young lad may work in our favour

Zaza, Snodgrass and Ayew could score 20 a season playing for Man City. Different ball game playing for West Ham with Bilic in charge.

Iheanacho would be a great signing. If CIty are not willing to sell, that would be one thing -- might as well find that out sooner rather than later. But if West Ham really do want him, and City are really willing to sell, then please don't do the usual penny-pinching thing and waste time getting his terms down to 99% of what you want to pay. He'd be worth every cent -- pay what they ask and get on with it. It'd be so nice to wrap up a deal early in the window instead of losing it to, say, Everton in August.

being reported that deal is almost done but it is being held up as image rights and citeh buy back clause to be ironed out...still he is not interested in going to PSG as he wants to stay in uk as its 2 years until he becomes a citizen.

Would be a very good signing, but surely the won't be putting all our hopes on a 19 year old! But personally I think we need someone else upfront probably bats.

If it does happen, the most likely scenario is: Bats on loan and Iheanacho with a buy-back clause, which is essentially a loan where we pay big money up front and have to keep him if he flops. The worst thing about this scenario is that if we got them, and we progressed to, say, 6th or 7th place, we'd have to send both of them back to their respective clubs and start all over again. But we failed so miserably in the transfer market last season that it's like we need to get out of the fire and into the frying pan, and any frying pan will do. So on balance, I'd be happy with either one or both of them, in whatever way they come to us.

It sounds like he is a talented young player but don't know much about him. Like all deals the structure needs to be a win win win for all parties.. A starting evaluation seems to be met $24m. So deal starts at that rate. West ham need a minimum of a 4 year contract. Buy back clause of $34m Plus 10% of wages paid to the player during the 4 years. (this is based that in 4 years $40m for a top class striker will be nothing!! No buy back if the 4 year window has not been triggered within a 30 day window post season 2021 summer transfer window. They cant buy him back at any time. They could steal him back if he is in good form.
I would add a purchase of $22m and buy back at $31m. This gives the WHU a break now, and City a break if buy back is enforced. The win for the player of course is the pay structure and presumably the ambitions and success of WHU . WHU agree a further $1.5m if he is in a named squad that achieves European Football, or Semi finals of any Cup run Max $4m per season in his first and second season only.

So, a couple of weeks down the track and still nothing. Of course that could be nothing or it could be they're using him as a smokescreen whilst we scour outer Mongolia for a new striker!

When Carroll and sakho are fit they will be like new signings so we won't need any strikers. Next season we can even add Valencia to the fold. :-@

leicester city made a £20million bid for him but has been rejected...better get our finger out or we will be left behind once again...citeh want a minimum of £25million for him...so lets see if the board are just talking the talk or walking the walk

Can't believe that we'd let something so important slip to a close competitor. The market has heated up, with Leicester already signing Maguire (17M), offering 20M on Iheanacho and are close on Jakupovic. Everton have now signed Pickford (30M), Klassen (24M) and are looking to do MORE business. Huddersfield have spent 10M on young Australian midfielder Mooy, and Brighton an undisclosed but record amount on Australian keeper Matt Ryan (both are decent players, but this shows you what you get for 10M these days). What are West Ham doing? Niggling over a couple of million for unproven and potentially sulky Onyekuru, fishing for fast but technically weak Traore, and looking for loan deals that may never happen. This is just like last season so far. We'll spend too much, too late, for too little.

If they needlessly let iheanacho slip thro their fingers it would be unforgivable it's not like they are asking that much compared with other strikers on the market.

But would we be able to put in a clause that he is not for sale back to them for 2 years. That way if he takes to Bilic way of play and is really good by the time they buy him back we might be high enough up the ladder that other top line players will see us as a good club to come to. Then we can pick up a top line striker to replace him.

Huddersfield town are said to be preparing a bid of around £5million for Fletcher i wonder if we would accept that considering the poor Lads not really been given a chance.

I would keep him on the books and loan him out this season, he is still young but I don't know how much time e will get this season especially if we get a couple of good players but if he gets loaned to Huddersfield he might get enough time to developed his skills in the premier league. If not sell him next season.

Just sayin. (I know they have more money to spend, but it shows you what the going rates are these days. Don't know why on earth we are futzing around with Traore at all, or why, if Onyekuru is as good as suggested, we haven't offered £12M to get the deal done quickly. Small change in today's market.)

Spot on ashes. Even mid table teams last few windows, are spending decent money on players yet, We want keepers that are free, defenders that cost around 10 mill, midfielders between 8 and 15 and might if we can ever get one get a striker for as much as 20. That's quite appalling in a day and age the game is awash with money! You only get what you pay for and its hard to imagine anyone above the bottom 3 last year acting like that.
