Despite claims by Calciomercato.com and other websites along with several other media outlets, Joao Mario's loan move to West Ham United is still most definitely on! The finances of the deal have already been sorted out between the Hammer's hierarchy and those at Inter Milan, with the two clubs having a good relationship.

Joao Mario Deal, First It Was On, Then It Was Off, Now It's Back On Again

West Ham manager David Moyes is flying out to Italy to see Mario in action against AS Roma before any deal is signed, as he has the final decision as to whether the player is the right fit for his team. Interestingly Mario will play some part of the game even though he has fallen out of favour with Luciano Spalletti, Inter's manager. The 'cameo' appearance will in a way be similar to the 'behind closed doors' evaluation matches that used to take place back in the day, only this time it will be in a crucial Serie 'A' match in front of thousands, you can bet your house on 'Super Mario' only being begrudgingly allowed a few minutes on the pitch by Spalletti.

There have been reports that West Ham have baulked at the size of the loan fee of £1.2 Million, but it is highly unlikely that David Moyes would fly to Italy to run the rule over the player unless the paper work was already in place in principal, and given the player's value the fee does not seem exorbitant at all, but the two Davids, David Sullivan in particular do like a bargain. Mr Sullivan's approach to 'gettin' a deal' is very similar to the property developer who drives incredibly hard deals with suppliers and fitters to minimise his expenditure, only to be held to ransom when it comes to 'snagging' the final build, you tend to get what you pay for!

There are two obvious reasons why this deal should happen, principally Inter need to free up FFP funds to incorporate their recent expenditure on player acquisitions and secondly Manu Lanzini's injury which will keep him out of action for
up to six weeks or more leaves Hammer's incredibly light in midfield, Mario and at least one other are necessary in order for the club to maintain it's recent upwards climb of the Barclays Premier League. - Ed

All that money we are getting being in the prem, none being used to get down the debts. Didn't we sell us much as we bought in monetary terms last window? Plus we were lead to believe we had about 30 mill for calvalho that wasn't used the last window? Yet we are still struggling for cash! If we still have no money after this move I can only suggest the club is being mis managed.

Why loan? Because Sullivan won't pay the money, that's why. If there is a saving grace on this one, it's because it's World Cup year. The man needs to be playing and motivated to get himself in the Portugal squad. I'm still not sure this is even a Moyes signing. He has gone on record as wanting players that are already in the prem. (might except a player who has played in prem before). The signing right up sullivans street is probably nasri. So I expect that one to get over the line with lanzini injured. Why not stick yet another patch over our wounds.

I think he actually said to a 'friend' who then spoke with Calciomercato.com "Eu não iria juntar-se a esses bastardos a menos que me pagassem a maldita terra" which essentially translates to: "I wouldn't join those bastards unless they pay me the earth!"
Seems honest enough to me!

Joao Mario would be a great addition, Nasri is also on a free, and with Lanzini's injury he could be a cheap stop-gap. I was really excited about the potential Dedoncker deal but that has gone quiet! I'd love for us to tru for some of the young talent in europe like Talisca but appreciate we need experienced pros at this moment.

Rumour has it that Pedro Obiang maybe traded to bring in Joao Mario to West Ham. Inter are very keen to get him in exchange.
Seriously, we also need a playmaker with Arnatouvic now on the injury list. Are Sakho and Chicharito going to start this weekend?
