Evra Little Helps Pound Store Purchase For Beleaguered Hammers

West Ham United are set to sign former Manchester United left back Patrice Evra until the end of the season, the disgraced 36 year old Frenchman has been without a club since he left Marseille by mutual consent in November after kicking one of the club's fans before a Europa League match. In what many will see as a 'pound store' purchase Evra, who was banned from Uefa competition for the rest of the season, but is able to play for West Ham will arrive on a free transfer. He played for Hammers boss David Moyes when he managed Manchester United, but was not a first team choice, Evra then left Old Trafford for Juventus in 2014 and had three seasons in Italy before moving to Marseille in January 2017.

During his time at United he won nine major trophies including five Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2008. Evra made nine appearances for Marseille this season before the incident prior to a European game against Vitoria Guimaraes on the 2nd November that saw him banned. Authur Masuaku's six match ban for spitting at an opponent has had a serious impact on Hammers' survival prospects and Evra's signing will be seen as a serious 'fire rescue' action from the West Ham United hierarchy who seriously under performed in the recent transfer window.

West Ham have a history of signing maverick footballers, but Evra is not exactly in his prime. Pablo Zabaleta has been a revelation since signing from Manchester City, however we at the org are of the opinion that 'Zabba; is the exception rather than the rule when it come to players approaching their later years and that Evra would only be a viable option in the very short term. There are already social media posts that are assuming Evra has been signed in order to kick fans who dare speak out against the Holy trinity of Sullivan, Gold and Brady!

How dumb does Sully think we are? I suppose we're to think: "Gosh they tried hard to get Dendoncker! And they put in such a strong bid for Joe Allen, I'm amazed that Stoke didn't accept it. But we did at least get Super Mario, and that kid from Preston North End is a peach. Golly gosh but it was a smashing transfer window all things considered. And here I was thinking it was over and they sign a bona fide LEGEND in Patrice Evra. Why I remember when my Pap used to say what a fantastic player he was back in the day. Didn't he play with Cantona? Those were the days!!! Just cant wait to get my new shirt with the name EVRA on it."

THIRTY SIX YEARS OLD AND WELL UNFIT PEOPLE. That's all you need to know.

give him a chance guys, he hasn't even played yet! Its interesting that most comments are on his age rather than his attitude. we surely agree its a stop gap and that we are in trouble.

I'm happy to eat humble pie DB but this time I don't think it will be necessary mate. Two Bob owners. Loved the analogy in an earlier post about the car but not having money to run it...

True... I try to be optimistic but supporting this club for over 50 years takes its toll. The owners are Two Bob but the point is they are OWNERS, not small share holding board members and shifting them will be very difficult unless some white knight appears. There wasn't one in the past when the porn twins took a punt.

I Think there would be a lot of interest. As you say I think the stadium situation could be a issue, but an owner with large pockets surely could get round this, and redevelop, then we could have a season at Wembley.....its the only way we will get here.

The club has huge potential but strangely enough no one has made any obvious moves to relieve the porn dwarfs on the burden of ownership and particularly when we about to go under no one was rushing in including Fernandez, royal hammer that bought QPHaHaHa.

He has just been released because of the Kung fu kick and his European ban for it. So surely he must be as fit as any 36 year old. Who cares if he has hair growing out of his ears and is incontenent, you can get special pants for that now! Anyway welcome to our new defensive midfielder? Apparently brought in because of Arthur's ban. Do we have odds on evra taking at least six games to get fit enough to play? Making him an obsolete signing.

Stuart Pearce has described the signing as a no brainer. If so why didn't we jump on it when he first got sacked? Unless of course he means to buy evra you really need no brain.

Seriously tho who would really want to deal with that joke Sullivan? He is so disrespectful to clubs and players. Maybe that's why we are reduced to getting free agents.
