Glad he's playing today could make all the difference even if we just get the first half out of him. The Subs look pretty good, although it looks a bit defensive think Moyes is going for the draw

A bit defensive? I can't agree with that. I'm trying to work out how we might be playing and I'd say that's a team that's gona ship goals if we aren't lucky. Unless I get the formation wrong.

Though question marks regarding antonio for fitness & attitude, agree its probably the least defensive side moyes has put out to date!!Lets hope arnie does the business COYI

It was simply astonishing. Specs had been roundly ridiculed for his playing at left back. This match he started in midfield. The rest is history.

Arnie is just superb and if Chicharito continues to knock in those 30-yarders, we'll be safe!!

Great result, performance quite good, the pairing of Hernandez and Arnautovic up front is working well, both quality players who know where the goal is.The first twenty minutes of the second half was probably the worst period of the game for Westham, penned back in their own half ,unable to dig themselves out. That would be my only gripe this game,is that because the team are not very good keeping possession with pass and movement football we can't take the sting out of the opposition attack play. This is one area Moyes really has to improve the personel in the team, bringing in players more comfortable on the ball who are used to the pass and movement game. Mario suits that style ,we just need a couple more players like him, he has that added ability to take players on with the ball.

How long has it been since we were able to say "BOTH quality players who know where the goal is"? To their credit, Watford changed system and came after us; that's why we were penned in. Moyes adjusted, but it took adding Byram and Rice. We need to be able to deal with changes like that without giving up on attack. Man CIty would have ripped us a new one. Sad thing about Mario, who I'm beginning to like, is that his loan deal seems unlikely to be made a full signing, and even if it does, SUGO will use that as an excuse not to sign someone else we need. But for now, we can bask in a solid win and a clean sheet.

I think most of us agreed Hernandez is a good player, trouble is/was can we use him correctly with who we currently have in our squad. Let's hope now Moyes can see a way. I'm not sure Moyes will go for him against Liverpool away. I'd expect a far more defensive game, but at least we have next week off to prepare. Anyway 3 points was great as we desperately needed it. Well done the lads, let's keep getting behind them.

Very good performance all round. Last season we looked to be cruising against Z Car boys, two nil up and Payet at his very best but soon all undone with catastrophic errors in defence. This time around we are much more solid. At half time and one up I thought we were very much in control BUT... I really would like to see us have more position. We had 36% which at home is crazy and just gives the fans high anxiety. We give the ball away cheap particularly from Adrian and Ginge. I thought Marco was brilliant, little pea is showing a lot more work rate and as a consequence gets more of the ball! Noble again was outstanding, I feel he the only one with the vision to see a creative pass, sure his legs are gone and against Man City or the like he will be wanting. Antonio was brilliant in the first half, just couldn't get near him BUT... was totally gone in the second half, was a passenger for 45 minutes and Moyes for some reason decided to leave him on... no idea way. In summary, Happy Hammer.. COYI's!!!!!

We didnt really have any outlets 2nd half. Arnie and Antonio tired, Noble played well defensively but his passing was definitely off, and Cress and Ginge kept clearing it straight back to them. That being said possession doesnt mean anything its what you do when you have the ball. We created far more clear cut chances while all watford did was Cross and play long balls which kept going to collins head over and over

The point is when we have the ball they dont so no chance of them scoring and the fans are less stressed. Noble can give the ball away but for me he is only one in recent games with the vision to make a threatening pass. Possession doesn't tell the whole story but we do allow teams a lot of freedom in the middle third were as most team close us down quickly even in our third that means Ginge hits a long ball, or a pass back to the keeper, who clears making a 50 50 ball for Little Pea up against a centre back sky scrapper and possession is lost again allowing another wave of attack.

He's always going to give the ball back to them -- not a born passer is an understatement -- BUT he's a tower, defends well with his head, and puts his body on the line to block shots. As things stand I'll take him over anyone else in the side any day. Reid went off the boil quite a while ago. I agree with Dicksy that possession isn't all it's cracked up to be: when Leicester won the title, they did it with counterattack from Vardy and Mahrez. They had little possession, but cut teams to shreds when they did. I wouldn't mind having a team like that! As long as we deny other teams any significant chances, it doesn't make me too nervous, and that's how we held up against Watford. Liverpool will be a different story. We need at least 2 goals to get a draw.

Ginge is great in defence, totally agree. Leicester were a joy to watch we have no Vardy or Mahrez and dont forget Kante and Drinkwater who were good at stealing the ball to make the counter attack. Also agree about Liverpool, will need at least two goals just to walk away with a point.

Watched the game from my seat in the London Stadium. All around most were pleased and for once not stressed out. We looked so much better with Arnie back in the side plus Hernandez looked a different player. Antonio was on another planet but overall the side passed better than they have of late.
Hopefully onwards and upwards!!!

March doesn't look too bad with 3 home matches, away to Swansea, and only Manure posing a truly serious threat (and Newcastle just beat them anyway). But "April is the cruellest month" as T. S. Eliot said: we have Chelsea (a), Arsenal (a), and Citeh (h), with only Stoke at home for some "relief". And you know West Ham. It would be good for us to grab points while we can. Probably too much to ask, but if we could hit 40 by April, I'd rest a whole lot easier.
