I thought he might rest Hernandez for this one. Surprised big muck is out and lanzini goes straight in! Good bench tho.

We were totally overmatched. Well, one (and only one) player for us was not overmatched: Arnautovic. He had a good game, and made almost something out of nothing -- twice. The rest were overmatched and it's just a matter of degree how badly. Zabaleta and Joao Mario were not too badly beaten. Lanzini and Evra were not sharp. Cresswell and Kouyate were OK but nothing to write home about. Collins and Ogbonna were mostly poor. Adrian did what he could when he could (or it would have been much worse). Noble, for me, is no longer competitive at this level. Got to give the Poo some credit: they played at a very high level throughout. I don't want to look at the table. Even goal difference could be important come the end of the season.

Swansea, Burnley, Southampton -- not one of them will be easy, but we need six points from nine, preferably seven.

Arnie, Noble and Adrian only ones who came out with any credit for me. What Mario was doing for the 3rd i have no clue and Kouyate is an embarrassment. Moyes got it horribly wrong imo. Never shouldve started Evra or Lanzini.

I woke up at 3.00am so missed the first half...and must admit we looked a yard and a half slower on the uptake from the second half whistle. I thought Mario was sub-super and didn't see him add anything to our or his game while he was in play. Kouyate was on the Up I thought last time out but someone must have pissed on his bonfire as he melted back into the usual piss poor standard we've seen from him this season. Poor old Adrian must have thought he was on his own at the back the way they were making our defence look non-existent. Yes, they are Liverpool and no, we haven't spent what they have, but come on lads, pull yer effing fingers out and have a go, eh...Glad Antonio put his one and only chance away but would have preferred him starting. Oh well...who knows what would've happened with a different line up.
Hopefully we'll see next weekend.

goals are being conceded this season and not just against the top sides either. We may live to regret it if we're not careful.

Liverpool have taken time to come together under Klopp, but they are now a young team with loads of talent at every position, including the bench (though not as deep as Citeh, by any stretch). West Ham: if we were looking at a young Zabaleta, Evra, Chicharito, and even Collins, Ogbonna and Noble -- well, it might have been competitive. I'm not saying we're just a team of old has-beens, but apart from Arnautovic/Lanzini, where's the injection of top young talent into the team? And Lanzini was a steal.

PS: I feel really sorry for Jordan Hugill -- we may have ruined his career! He certainly wasn't of a level to give us a chance in this match!

but we were still hopelessly outclassed. If you add in the near misses, I'd say 4-1 was a fair result and reflected the difference between the two sides. Still, it's true that Milner interfered with Adrian. What should Adrian do in such a situation? Shove him over? Not sure.

Liverpool at home, once we were 1 down, should have parked this bus, as it has been said goal difference at the moment is what they should be looking at.

Had us down to lose this one 3-0. Should have realised and remembered that we've conceded 3 we're more likely than not to let the opposition have a 4th and so it proved. Dread to think what our goal difference is at Anfield over the years. Probably well over -100!
