No March In March

Having not been contacted by the Real West Ham Fans Action Group about their march planned for Saturday the 10th of March, it should be of no concern to us at the Org that it has been postponed. The proposed march divided opinion among many 'non-verbal' Hammers' fans, with some feeling that the demonstration ahead of a crucial Premier League survival game would play in to the oppositions hands by creating an air of negativity which with the best will in the world would almost invariably have a bad effect on the playing staff.

Perhaps the time to demonstrate is when the club has confirmed it's Premier League status, which we believe it will under the guidance of David Moyes. There is useful ammunition for disgruntled supporters however, the lower priced season tickets which were sold initially on a two year basis will all be up for renewal next season and it is surely then that real pressure can be put on the board to honour their broken promises and listen to fans. Divide and prosper is often the name of the game when trying to break down an opponent and it appears the board have managed to do just that!

"To clarify, Knees up Mother Brown, along with all other groups who have participated in recent negotiations with the club under the West Ham Groups United banner were informed of this decision a few minutes before the ActionGroup announced their plans publicly, the news has disappointed many supporters who were preparing to take to the streets of Stratford next weekend in order to seek a better, brighter future for their football club. We at KUMB.com, who fought to deliver a better West Ham United for all of our supporters during those exchanges share that disappointment. For the record, the decision to abort the march was taken solely by the RWHFAG - which is of course their prerogative, given that the march had been arranged under their banner. As far as we are aware, none of the members of WHGU were consulted before this decision was reached (WHUISA and Hammers Chat have already confirmed they were not involved)."

The principal is very very simple, meet the protagonists, find their weak link or links and then exploit their differences, job done! The Real West Ham Fans Action Group adopted a Churchillian approach to taking on the West Ham United hierarchy, there intransigence could not be guaranteed which is why an impasse has been reached, and the fall out among fellow supporters begins.

The saving grace regarding the cancellation of the March in March is that the £20,000 plus 'war chest' is to be donated to a really deserving cause, the Isla Fund. Apart from this wonderful benefit what has the 'agitation' achieved? Well, plenty actually, the thought that thousands of fans were able and willing to come together in order to protest will have scared the comfortable hell out of David Sullivan, David Gold and Baroness Brady, their 'hearing' and 'vision' of the club's supporters will definitely be more focused, if they were under any illusions as to the extent of normal fans displeasure their eyes will now be well and truly opened!

Between now and the end of the season fans have just got to make the best of a bad job and get right behind the team until top flight safety is attained, then and only then should 'disruptive action be countenanced, this proposed lack of action should not be seen as an admission of defeat to the owners, rather a warning that there is a lot of collective 'powder' dry! - Ed

I have seen and followed closely on facebook etc and frankly speaking would not like to be connected to The Real West Ham Fans Action Group as their views on the club I support are very different. Their is a very dark undertone which reflects the history of the main protagonists. There are very strong rumours and allegations of impropriety regarding funding and allegations that they have been bought off by the board. This I stress is just rumour. Its all very unsavoury, I leave it to other org readers to research for themselves. I was particularly concerned with the abusive attacks on the article written by Martin Samuel, im no fan of the Mail but this guy, a fellow hammer, didnt deserve the hate-filled messages received from so called "real" fans. Think there is more to this story, the funding is suspect.

Nev, I wouldn't entirely agree with "The saving grace regarding the cancellation of the March in March is that the £20,000 plus 'war chest' is to be donated to a really deserving cause, the Isla Fund" A lovely cause but the actual value of the war chest is not clear and never audited. A lot of people want the money returned and that THEY decide which charity should or not receive THEIR money.

This will rumble on and the march is likely to continue. I just hope the Police etc are well briefed.

Dartford, I know Samuels wrote an article but what was the rwhf action groups reaction? I have no knowledge of that. Maybe them backing out of the March will be for the better

The reaction was personal and pretty vile against the man, if you cant see it Red Neck then hopefully its been taken down. I dont think he deserved it. In the main he is supportive to West Ham but has the journalistic courage to speak up and not sway with popular opinion.

Sorry for taking a while to get on here but I have just been trawling through the fall out of the rwhfag decision. In short it stinks the place out! Something is really fishy about it. They have basically folded at the first fence! And stabbed their fellow supporters in the back! They stated they were in it for the long run and weren't going away! So four months is the long run is it? People donated money to the cause under what now are false pretentences. The march is still likely to go on whuisa, are confident they are gona get it arranged this weekend. There is a guy on westham online, bill gardiner that seems to hold a lot of sway that's happy to run it. In short most still want to March and even more say it's swayed them to go. No one tells us what to do. Even people on rwhfag have resigned and still intend on marching. The March goes on! ATM only Andy swallow and mickey Morgan have withdrawn their participation. And on a more serious note I was on most of the a12 today and the road was mainly clear of snow.

Isn't he the thug that used to hang around with Cass Pennant beating people up and causing hooliganism that all but ruined the game back in the 60's and 70's? Why would anyone want to join a group that contains known troublemakers?

I disagree 100% with you dartford ,you have made your views known in the past re the board you favour a softly softly dont rock the boat approach , To me this is bullshit ,realize one thing it will be to late once we go south the damage will have been done and whats more the match on Saturday could be one of the most important in our history ,the reason is because Swansea arel firm contenders for the drop ,it looks like at present there is only one sure and certain contender and thats W B A which leaves 2 vacancys ,we cant just sit back and let it happen.
Two things have happend here ,either they lost their bottle pure and simple or they've been bought off ,im comming down firmly in agreement with red this is a bunch of cowards purporting to speak for west ham fans where as the truth known they might have done real damage

That you for your post. I think if ou look at all my posts regarding the board its not as Softly Softly as you state but never mind. Im still convinced the we wont go south and still look to the future. Yes, we need to get our views across and made clear that we are not in a perfect world. But I dont believe in mob rule, i prefer diplomacy and clear thinking.

Not quite sure how recent posts are linked to todays match, no doubt you will advise. I agree its important and basically a six pointer.

Who are you saying lost their bottle? The Real West Ham? Happy to carry on the discussion and pick holes in my 100% BS.

is one of the most important in our history. Lose, and we're on equal points with them. Win, and we put just a little more distance between us and the drop. Not enough to breathe easy, mind you, but it heaps more pressure on them. But it's an away match, their supporters will be up for it, their team will be up for it, and a draw is really no good to anyone. Moyes needs a good plan for winning it, and the team have to come out of the blocks FULLY COMMITTED. Kinda wish I could be there for this one. COYI

Just realised Andre Ayew is starting for Swans, so it's guaranteed he'll put one past us. So we need 2 goals at least.

I let people have there own opinions of what has happened with rwhfag and the board, I'm not making any accusations on this decided yourself but, the whole decision by rwhfag was done behind closed doors. The lack of clarity on what went on is deafening. The meeting with Brady attended not just by rwhfag but also included representives of 3 or 4 other groups. Brady came up with a written letter of promises which IMO was nothing more than fluff. No real concessions. I remember writing the same kinda guff in my school days just to pad out what little I really knew. Anyway during the snow there was another last minute meeting that most of the other groups couldn't make but rwhfag did make. There was NO information leaked from that meeting to my knowledge and also heard that the leader of rwhfag and his son met Sullivan at his gaff of which nothing has been revealed! Then rwhfag cancelled the March with the police and council waited 12 hours before telling the other groups (not asking about their opinion or thoughts) and minutes later announced it officially to the masses! So much has wrongly gone unsaid. It's just not right. Not what I expect from West Ham fans. A lot of people have been discarded and treated poorly on this. As it stands Today I'm marching if the support for it is there. ATM it sounds like it is.

Yeah saw that 65, I think they are holding back a little as they don't know the full story like all of us. For me it should be all laid open rather than the cloak and dagger stuff.

I reckon they are pretty honest blokes, passionate fans & for them to say that they feel now that the board will make necessary changes makes me believe (a little!!) that it MIGHT just happen...as Ryan states there are now targets to be met & if they are ignored again imo its the last chance saloon for this board...im certainly not Pro-Board but im willing to see if there will be change!!

up
46 users have voted.

I agree about the boys at whtv, 65. Yes there are targets but we have just had one targets after another ignored, what is different this time? Plus the targets are not the big problems either, most won't care even if they are done. The playing staff hasn't been invested in and you still can't get close to the pitch to see the game!

Is that there are too many factions and groups. Its like Life of Brian: Peoples fron of west ham, west hams people front whisa, wussa, whanka......list is endless.
Im confused who represents what, who doesn't like what and who demands what.
Added to this is the fact that that many representatives like being seen on youtube, radio, blogs etc. Theres an element of ego stoking here. Dangerous territory.
All rather animal farm if you ask me.
