I saw an interesting article on teletext today, it's not on there now. Apparently a man was bitten by a rattle snake and had about 35 doses of anti venom. So? I hear you say. Well apparently he was bitten AFTER he had killed the snake by decapitation! Apparently their reflex on the bite can Remain several hours after death!!! Anyone else got any did you knows?

The Black Mamba
Three lads in South Africa went out 'trophy hunting' for Black Mamba's and split up. The object was to trap one and cut the head off for proof. As they were counting the heads back at the jeep, one of the lads collapsed and died. He'd put the heads in his trouser pocket and was bitten. A farmer in South Africa came home and found a Black Mamba in his kitchen, so in order to catch it he reached for the first thing to hand: a butterfly net. He died. If you're unlucky enough to be bitten by a Black Mamba, the idea is to sit down and wait to die, running about sends the venom around the body in a rush. It's called the Black Mamba as the inside of the mouth is black while this beautiful snake as actually grey. The Mamba's head is in the shape of a coffin. A Black Mamba can out-run a human, the only snake to do so. (could be hear-say that one). Our common Adder can strike three times faster than a young Mohammad Ali could punch. A photo taken of a striking Adder blurred at 3,000th of a second. In over a hundred years, only six people have ever died after a bite from our Adder. Four OAP's and two babies.

Conger eels are the same.
Conger eels are the same. Caught one in Mevagissey Harbour once at night when it came in to feed. A local fisherman cut it's head off but two hours later it still snapped when prodded. Maybe not venomous but pretty scary.

Although decapitated crocs cant eat you
the living ones are very dangerous. Try telling that to "Pippa" a small dog that was part of a croc show in the Northern Territory for years. Little Pippa would run directly at the croc, yapping and flashing her 3mm canines. For years the croc would balk, turn around and rush back into the billabong. But a couple of days ago Pippa learned, to her everlasting horror, that enough is enough. The croc calmly and swiftly snapped her down. No more Pippa. Croc 1-0 Pippa, against the run of play. Big Sam would be proud.

Bear grylls as he has said many a time after killing a snake and taking the head off that you must bury the head face down as the fangs can still envenomate....

The mantis shrimp is an interesting creature
Dogs have 2 types of colour receptive cones, humans have 3,butterflies have 5,but the mantis shrimp has "16" colour receptive cones in their eyes, that is some sort of pyschedelic shit they can see!!The mantis shrimp also has 2 clubs that it uses to punch their prey which has the force of a bullet shot from a 22 caliber gun!!also in the blink of an eye their clubs can punch 500 times, apparently if a human could throw a baseball as fast as the mantis shrimp punches it would be launched into space!!An interesting creature to say the least...

Personally I think a mantis
Personally I think a mantis shrimp would be a good buy for defensive mid. If he packs a punch like that itl stop opponents rampaging through our midfield and getting at our defence.
