Arnie To Roma Rumours Are Rubbished

It was inevitable given the club's recent expenditures that rumours would begin to circulate as to how the books would be made to balance, several high profile first teamers have been mentioned as heading toward the exit door of late, the most recent of which is Marko Arnoutovic. It seems that certain media outlets are determined to undermine what has been an astounding transfer window for West Ham United, the 'little old hammers' could not possibly afford to bring in such high calibre players without selling their 'crown jewels' could they?, appears to have been the line of thought.

By mentioning a £50 Million transfer writers know they are guaranteed a bit of coverage, the same fee was mentioned way back when Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho happened to be attending the friendly that Arnoutovic played in just ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Russia, journalists put two and two together and came up with five, well fifty actually. Now Italian giants Roma have supposedly been offered Marko Arnoutovic for you guessed it, £50 Million! Some coincidence that hey?

Why on earth would Manuel Pelegrini want to deprive himself the services of arguably the best player at the club? It makes no sense, Pellegrini himself has already said that he was building a squad not just a team, Arnoutovic is at his peak and the type of player that would thrive under Pellegrini who would have surely sold Arnie on by now if that's what his intention was.

Of course Roma have denied any contact, which is as it should be given there hasn't been any, it should also be relatively obvious by now that Mario Husillos does NOT telegraph his moves in any way shape or form, the Press and media find out after the deals are done and when he wants them to be in the public domain. Club insiders have now indeed confirmed that the story is fake news, we shall probably see quite a lot of it before the window closes.

Sometimes it's hard to create a headline, sometimes it's better to wait for the truth! - Ed

I think it's as simple as this he played out of his natural position all his career you could tell when he first came to us he was tosh ,he didn't want to know then he changed to leading the attack instead of contributing to it ,different player

Is on record on the OS saying how much he liked Arnie when he was manager at City so I take it with a pinch of salt. Also. Given that our " crown jewels" narrowly avoided relegation maybe they are nothing more than coloured glass. I expect a few to move on and also a couple who flourished under Sam but have lost their way to hopefully rejuvenate their careers. In particular, Creswell and Reidy.

I gota hunch Hernandez will be gone before arnie. Trying to working out a team from what El pelle has bought I'd say we maybe plating 3 at the back and 1 cf maybe 2 just behind. If so I can't see where Hernandez can fit in. I'd expect arnie as the cf, with Anderson and yarmarlenko just behind.

I hope Hernandez stays. As good as Arnie has been he is too moody and i get the impression he could throw the toys out the pram anytime. With Carroll's reliability I believe a striker is a must. Pelle needs to let Hernandez know he is an integral part of the team and for me should be starting. No reason why he can't start beside Arnie with Yarmalenko & Anderson wide. Stick Wilshire in behind the two up top and be bold and play Rice in front of the back 4 in a holding role. No place for Noble in my team!

This story is still in the media which suggests smoke and fire to me. Just when I was at the height of optimism my pessimistic nature kicks in to suggest the porn dwarfs will sell and recover all funds recently used for Anderson etc etc :o(

I did mention a couple of weeks ago that Arnatouvic was back on the radar, but the rebuttal was firm that he was not going anywhere. Arnie is a proven goal scorer, and the new signings have to still prove their worth in the Premier League. Otherwise, West Ham will be back to the usual relegation battle, and some hasty January lease / free signings will follow. LOL!!

All the new signings only make sense if we keep Arnautovic. From my point of view, with the signings we've made now, we have an excellent chance to qualify for European football. And we might even beat (read: DESTROY) Manchester United. Surely Arnie would want to be a STAR at West Ham than a benchwarmer elsewhere.
