As the transfer window 'SLAMS SHUT', the much beloved term of the Red Tops, Hammers fans will be extremely happy with the overall transfer activity of the club during the window. Carlos Sanchez was the final addition signing from Fiorentina on a two year deal along with the earlier signing of Lucas Perez from Arsenal.

The wind might temporarily be blown out of fan's sails by the news that Everton managed to 'pip' WestHam at the Post by signing Hammers' targets Bernard and Andre Gomes following that up by signing Yerry Mina, but they do have cash to burn so it was inevitable that the toffees would 'poach' so many Hammers' targets!

Sanchez has been brought in as a back up/replacement for Cheik Kouyate and is experienced in the Premier League having played for the Villa for a couple of seasons.

It is a bit frustrating Nev. I hate to admit it but they are a little ahead of where we are. Still, we might finish above them this season, and wouldn't that be something! We've had a good window all the same. I don't rate Sanchez much, and I am not even too sure about Perez, but they give us some depth. Sanchez might not even equal Kouyate, but we made back a little money on the CK deal, and he wouldn't have started anyway. Let's hope Wilshere stays healthy and has a great season. Up the Ammers.

Sanchez at 32 and for £70k a week? Past his peak and wasn't that special in the first place? Kouyate was crap for most of last season I thought, he had gone very stale considering his previous seasons performances.
