Chinese Speculation is A Win Win For Arnie And West Ham

During the transfer window speculation will always be rife with regards to certain West Ham players, Hammers' talisman Marko Arnoutovic has invariably been the name linked with a big money move away from the London Stadium, in the recent past Manchester United among many other clubs have been 'interested' in bringing the mercurial Austrian to their club. However it now emerges that 'Arnie' is now of interest to a certain club or clubs in China who are prepared to spend big to acquire the Hammers' hitman and are prepared to pay him a 'King's randsom' for his services.

Now no one can accuse Arnoutovic of not being egocentrically driven, all strikers are, he is already a rich man despite the tax man and his brother's agent's fees, there is no way that he will 'slink off' to the Chinses Super League to earn a few quid, at least for a few years. Invariably later in his career the opportunity to earn ludicrous money in China might well seem attractive, however 'Arnie' appears to be made of sterner stuff, and unless he can secure a move to a 'top club' seems perfectly happy to be the 'Big fish in a small pond' that he is at the London Stadium, at least for the time being.

There is no such thing as loyalty in football anymore, with a few rare exceptions, we all have to move on, tempus fugit and all that, better to enjoy what is there now than lament over that which could have been. - Ed

I quite liked that analogy. Big fish in a small pond. I'm thinking he'll lose interest in West Ham sooner rather than later, I do like Arnie and he's a good player for us and has proven this on a regular basis this season let's be honest he's the best striker we have at the club at the moment, with Andy Carroll, Lucas Perez, Javier Hernandez not performing. But I do fear he'll leave in the summer if he doesn't leave in January, all depending on our finish I would say, if we get Europa League which I doubt we will then he might/could be tempted to stay, but it does depend on his ambitions and whether he wants to slum it out with us for another few seasons, which is normally the case with West Ham players.

Bournmouth turned down 50M for Wilson so there is no way we can countenance 35M for Arnie. Arnie is as good as or better than Calum Wilson. While every player has their price the days of letting anyone, let alone our top marksman, go for less than market value are over.

There's no loyalty in football from board to player and visa versa . The guy likes the idea of a final big pay day and who can blame him. We made a profit on him and had one and half good seasons with him so send him on his way. Timings ok, we are mid table, very unlikely to go down and the transfer window is still open for a younger replacement. Prefer to see him in China than lording it at Chavski or Red Mancs.

If he wants to go let him,if his brother is his mouthpiece then it says all we need to know...just a disruptive influence, hope it's not going to drag on like payet ,you know what they say if you want loyalty own a dog!!

Terrible decision he will regret forever if he goes. He's at the top of his game in the best league in the world - should be concentrating on achieving something here as he still hasn't lived up to his potential - he could win something meaningful here

I agree with most of the comments on this, once a player shows interest in a transfer request that's it as far as I'm concerned but 35 is taking the piss ,at least 50

I support west ham not individual players...if he wants too go then fine let him go for the right price just dont let it drag on like the Payet saga....other players will come in and become the next hero and fan favourite and i have no doubt that El Pel will unearth a gem.

How can El Pel pick him with all this going on? he picks him some fans may well give him grief and he'll sulk and he will be off for sure.El Pel does not pick him for tomorrow the rumours will be rife the deals done etc and the fans will be pissed no doubt.....and what do his team mates think about it? if they do at all....play carroll till he dies a death on the pitch give the Lad Silva a go it may work it may not but there is life after Arnie we all no it.....only thing that is distasteful in all this is the nonsense its about trophies when we all no its about his brother lining his own pockets with huge comission and arnie getting a huge pay increase he would not get here or at chelski/manure/poo....just be honest about it ffs i mean there is not one person i no who offered double/triple your money for doing the same job would not snatch there hands off.

We hear about an offer for Arnie from a Chinese club So who are they, Shang hi Rovers, Bejing Utd cos Arnies bruv aint named them. He tried last time with the Man Utd rumour this is just another ploy to try and get a rise He has been in 3 times in a year and even if it was true WHU have got him on a 5 year contract so if he wants to go to Nantucket city for the Big-yen his bruv is going to have to pay at least 60 mill to get out the contact and don't forget Stoke are on 20% sell on so all this double your money is a load of Boll*x He ought to have had Huey green as his agent(showing me age) Instead of his greedy Bruv who is trying to kid us that the Chinese super league is more important than the Premiership why don't he come out with it and say HE needs a big payday, not Arnie, Bet he ditches him once he reaches 34

Good point, how many teams in China want or can afford Arnie? Me thinks his 'bruv' is muddying the water to get extra wages otherwise he would have mentioned the club by name. We are just about to write an article about this

This is just another example of how far the sport has come away from the fans. Arnoutovic would be worth more as a player than Zidane was. It’s ridiculous. Yea he’s got some skills but in the grand scheme of the game he’s hardly a world beater. Tbh if he’s getting £1 million a month for kicking a ball then fair play to him. As Nev says there is no loyalty in the game, we know this so we can’t be surprised. It’s the reason really why the legends of clubs aren’t around anymore. In recent years you could say giggs at united, noble will be for us, but they don’t really exist anymore. Let him go they’ll be another in a few years

I agree with letting him go, but not in the January transfer window. These players should have a conscience that the club has helped build their career, and now they have to show an iota of decency in this time of need, and stay on till the Season end at the earliest. That January window should only be for outliers in a club, who do not get enough of playing time and want to move on. Definitely West Ham should up the fee to GBP60 million at the end of the Season as there will be other foreign teams that may come sniffing out for him. May even be Maurinho in his new club, whichever one it is.

So proud of you guys the way you've reacted to this news a couple of years ago this would have been potentially disastrous but now under the watch full eye of Pell and the great players that will come back from injury , you feel a new Sense of purpose ,anyone that wants out ,on your bike
