Good For Founders Not So Good The Rest As Season Tickets Go Up In Price

Having essentially frozen season ticket prices since the move to the London Stadium from the Boleyn Ground, West Ham United have announced various price increases for next season's tickets. Prices for cheapest founder tickets went up last year by default, in order to get the £298 offer it was neccassary to renew for two years, otherwise the price was £320, exactly what it will be for next season, all good there then.

Unfortunately some of the 'premium' season tickets are going up substantially, but this was aways going to happen especially given the 'healthy' waiting list for there now exists for season tickets. One surprising section of the renewal process states:

ADDITIONAL SEATS AND RELOCATIONS
As an extra benefit, you will be able to apply for a limited number of single seats, giving you the opportunity to secure an additional Season Ticket in your block or the adjacent one. These seats are subject to availability. There is also an allocation of seats across all price bands which Season Ticket Holders can request to move to when renewing on a first come, first served basis. To find out more about additional seats and relocations please call the Ticket Office on 0333 030 1966. Any other Season Ticket Holders wishing to relocate to new seats will be able to do so from Wednesday 22 May until Friday 24 May, with relocations prioritised by renewal date.

This does rather beggar the question of where the ' limited number of single seats' that can be applied for as 'As an extra benefit' are coming from? Mixed messages seem to be coming from the season ticket department, if you follow the maths of the situation it becomes extremely confusing. With apparently up to 20,000 people on the waiting list why offer additional seats to people who already have access to the Stadium instead of those who have paid to be on the waiting list?

More questions than answers, the situation will be of great benefit to those who wished they had purchased more season tickets when they were able to initially, but it does seem unfair on all those who have coughed up to be on the waiting list.

ive got mixed views 65. Im pleased that for 3 seasons we had no change but this is a big move now. I have 2 tickets as you know costing me a grand, now its significantly over that so I will give it some thought before committing. Im keen to know if others were I sit will renew, after 3 seasons these lovely people feel like family! My big bruv turns 65 so hes laughing with a much reduced ticket price and certainly not complaining. The trouble is 65 its all about the money, supply and demand. If the waiting list is really so long then the porn twins hold the power :o(

Looking back on 3 seasons its questionable if its good value, being tonked by the lesser clubs has been very frustrating and Burnley last season was a very sad day for me, separating fellow Hammers fighting each other at Mile End will stay with me for life. But... its all about emotion rather than logic so I guess I will pay up and try to look satisfied. Come and join me buddy!!!
