How Many More Strikers Can Be Linked With West Ham?

Speculation is always rife at the beginning of the transfer window, and despite only being a 'mid table' Barclays Premier League side, West Ham United still manage to receive an inordinate amount of press coverage. The club has been linked with just about every player who has a pulse! So who are the real targets and who are just part of the 'smoke and mirrors' syndrome that usually occurs around season ticket renewal time?

Ever since last January Maxi Gomez has been the inevitable mantra associated with a move to the London Stadium, however the initial need to acquire Gomez to replace Marko Arnautovic has dissipated, also there is no way the club could have afforded the transfer without Arnie being sold. Next up on the 'shopping list' was Salamon Rondon, but at 29 years old didn't really fit the young player template.

Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic, and Porto’s Moussa Marega have also featured in the Gossip columns recently, but it appears that West Ham's interest in signing Club Brugge centre forward 22 year old star in the making Wesley Moraes. Powerfully built, the 6'3" Brazilian has established himslef in the top Belgian League and whilst it cannot be described as truly competitive, it is a physical environment and one that is good preparation for the rigours of the English league.

If Hammers do want to sign Moraes they will have to act quickly, otherwise the jackals will descend in a similar way to Tottenham's attention to potential West Ham signings, it should be noted that they are now in the prime position to sign Gomez.! -Ed

Are the only ones we all really know about the others are just names and we have to hope that El Pel and his team have indepth knowledge about after all it is what they are paid for...with the jewels they unearthed last summer i have no doubt that they do but of all positions to fill the striker one is the worst and any player got in has too be mentally tough to cope with the instant judgement of fans

I'd steer well clear of him, not consistent enough and an average player at best

That's the question Dicksy, when we know that,we will know how true all this speculation is,or at least where we will be heading and who for.

Had his wage rise and with £35milion buyout clause if anyone wants him.....well nobody will pay that so I think he stays.
