Why no British Links?

I don't get it. Quite a strong statement to open with. But I don't. Why is it, the only players we ever seem to be linked with are from abroad?

Half of the names I see I have to look up. I've never heard of them. They are from minor leagues in obscure countries. They are relatively cheap is that because nobody has ever heard of them? Or is it because their wage demands are minuscule, compared to bigger names?

Lots of questions. I'm sure I'm not alone with this. So why no British links? Just chucking a few names around. Jack Grealish ok he may have the image of a big time Charlie. But is he? Or is that the persona the tabloids have you believe. Just because he's young, has a dodgy haircut and funny socks. Does that make him a bad player. Tom Cairney, Scott Mctominay, Matt Doherty, Rob Holding, Andre Gray, Harvey Barnes, Mason Mount, to name just a few. Why does Pelligrini insist on looking abroad?

The players I've mentioned could all be acquired for the same price, as the low rent muppets from overseas constantly linked. Why do we have to settle for Juan Sheet, Huey Dewey Luiz, or Lorenzo Fuckedifiknow. OK I'm taking the peez now but I just don't get it..............

I imagine boogers that it is the style of management, and being that Pellegrini and his close staff are foreign, when we had Allardyce he brought in the likes of Nolan and Carroll,or it could be he is looking for a little gem in the darkest outback, kicking a ball on a dirt track,in other words cheap, and hoping for the best.

I believe is a player we are looking at from Newcastle but like you mention Mr Boogers it appears only to be because the Gomes deal will not be happening,As for what a player costs well thats market driven and little you can do about it and with the budget we have El Pel has to manage a very fine balancing act and weigh up his options and like it or not he and his offsider clearly know the foreign market a lot better than the domestic one,of course there are bargains too be had but i am not sure he will take a risk, look at Balbuena he cost peanuts and Diopp relatively so as well and i suspect when you hear the likes of Moanrino asking "how on earth did we end up with Diopp" he questioned his then scouting team you have to trust and understand how we on our budget can operate.Strikers we clearly need Welbeck/Sturridge both available on free transfers but i doubt we will go for either having just managed to offload Carroll as there injury history will make the owners baulk at what would clearly be big wage demands.

That's a good point you make about Diop and Balbeuna both have turned out well. Thing is they are few and far between and for every one that turns out well, I think you can add Yarmelenko to that list as well, there are plenty of wrong uns to boot..
