Rumours that West Ham are back in for Maxi Gomez may have emanated from Hammers contacting Celta Vigo about Gomez'z team mate Stanislav Lobokta, the 24 year old Slovakian midfielder, dubbed ‘the new Luka Modric', could be available for around €15-20 Million. Unfortunately any whimsical thoughts of a €60 Million double signing of both Gomez and Lobokta will have to remain a pipe dream, it appears pragmatism prevails, that is unless a 'big' name leaves the club of course.

According to Spanish news outlets, West Ham United have made an offer to sign Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan, this action being prompted by Andre Gomes essentially ruling himself out of a move to the London Stadium in preference of a return to Everton where he spent last season on loan. Jordan is a another 24 year old, which is in keeping with the new Husillos and Pellegrini 'mantra' to reduce the squad's average age, he is a playmaker has a €15million release clause in his deal, as is the norm West Ham have offered less than that for now, but even if the club have to pay full wack, Jordan could prove to be a really good acquisition.

Both Jordan and Lobokta are skilful with the ball, Jordan also has a good free kick on him and is superb at finding his ream mates with his precision crosses, Lobokta is a huge talent capable of playing 'in the hole' or in a more advanced role. Both players would be superb additions to what could become a young and dynamic squad capable of giving most teams a run for their money, Manuel Pellegrini should be able to continue where he left off in his quest to bring entertaining and successful football to fans starved of both for lengthy periods in the past. - Ed
