Will Pelle Walk The Plank Or Be Pushed?

Manuel Pellegrini is a very experienced manager, and as such he must clearly see the writing on the wall regarding his tenure at West Ham United, the 66 year old Chilean has joined Unai Emery, Quique Sánchez Flores, Ralph Hasenhüttl and Marco Silva on the list of who will get the sack next. In a week that also saw the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino from Tottenham, despite taking them to the Champion's League final last season, Pellegrini would do well to consider his options.

Pellegrini's position at the London Stadium is becoming increasingly untenable, the only element keeping him in his job is the substantial compensation that he and his staff would have to be paid in order to terminate the remaining year and a half of their contracts. Although the compensation factor is keeping the incumbent manager and his staff in place at the moment it hasn't stopped the Hammers hierarchy from using their 3rd party owned website to 'sound out' potential replacements!

Sean Dyche is the latest 'candidate' to join Rafa Benitez and Eddie Howe, with even the deluded having written off any attempt at luring Pochettino from across London. The facts are any manager worth his salt will already be in situ at their clubs and would therefore require compensation to be paid, allied to the exit payments to Pellegrini and his staff the amount required is far in excess of what the two Davids and the Baroness are willing, or able, to pay.

It would be churlish to asses Saturday's inept performance as terminal, there was always going to be a 'bounce' at Tottenham given the managerial change, but the next few fixtures offer up little hope of salvation and unless he can turn things round the club will have no other option other than to bite the bullet and get rid of Pellegrini irrespective of the cost.

The board are probably hoping that Pellegrini, being a proud man, will 'walk' if there isn't an upturn in results, which may be their only realistic hope, because any money used for pay offs will come directly from the transfer that will be required to lure a new manager to a role that is definitely a poisoned chalice! - Ed

You are spot on ! Nothing changes, same old dross. We have a habit of attracting second rate foreigners with no heart for the club and not prepared to work. Spurs at Home and no one was interested. I put in more effort getting across town to see this dross than the overpaid, overrated clowns that wear the claret blue. I've had enough!

I think we are stuck with the Chilean Scarecrow. He is never going to walk and g&S will not sack him and take a hit. I think he has until the new year when we are rock bottom at Christmas before the porn dwarfs will have to act to avoid an economic collapse of going into the chumps league.

These idiots in charge will only act when it's too late.we will not get any more points before the new year with this manager in charge.people are saying try Moyes again,he wont come in a million years after the way he was treated last time, its going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better & it's been like that ever since we moved with these clowns in charge

Thats what will light a fire under the board....because make no doubt about it we are going down as this manager either will not or more likely cannot deal with the problem at hand.......so who should we get if the bullet happens? Howe? cannot see it myself Benitez well he may feel he owes the board as they had him but let him go to Madrid but of course he would demand top dollar and want what was given to El Pel when it comes to transfer funds which of course the board will baulk at....So where to look for a manager who would be willing to come to us on a reasonable wage and be prepared to work with the squad as it is apart from the GK situation which is a total nightmare....a name i would like to put forward and it may come out of left field for most but lets try and get Mark Warburton from QPha......he had Brentford playing excellent football had a mare at Rangers for many reasons and as for the Forest calamity where they were hiring and firing managers almost Weekly! he has gone to Qpha and has got them playing some good football on a shoestring budget.....to me a perfect fit for us.....the quality of our players has not vanished they just look totally uninspired and bereft of ideas so lets be brave pay off El Pel and lets have a go at getting Warburton and make it clear apart from the GK what we have is what you got to work with....Not a big enough name no prem experience blah blah blah well maybe he does not have either but he knows football and we as a club and as a fan base need to get much more realistic because we need a TEAM not Individuals.

The Cowley brothers, but not big name enough for the unknowlegeable twins.rumour has it they are lining up Chris Hughton as caretaker manager.he would be a better option imo than say pulis, but what would happen if Hughton kept us up? Same as Moyes they would probably just discard him for another 'world class' manager

Just watched Pelle comments after the game said he knew that Antonio was match fit and he knew he would be playing so why didnt he start him. The only thing that this brilliant Tactician did was change Ogbonna with Balbuena, Exactly the same formation- He gets 8 million for that. When he first started I watched a video with his counters explaining his tactics and how he thought his philosophy was a winner and at the beginning of the season we all thought that this could be our season brilliant manager -very happy with his squad won 4 games got trounced by Man citeh and the fans were Happy so was Pelle 2 players for each position -Talk of top 6 football. Then the unthinkable happened we got dumped out of the Carabao cup by Oxford and then lost Fabianski we had to play Roberto who I had never heard of - He must be good Yousillyarse picked him 1 of Mannys picks in Pellegrini we trust( well at that time) he turned out to be dogshit but we all got behind him he had a WHU shirt on that's who I support! so we play The Blunts and just scrape a point I was not impressed seeing that we had Haller Fornals Balbuena Yarmalenko, Anderson, All players picked by Pelli, we should be beating the likes of the blades. Then came Newcastle and Steve Bruce saw that Robbo was not confident on crosses so he hits a player in front of him and it works a charm and exposes him as a goalkeeper that he is just a shot-stopper never a goalkeeper- That is what a manager should do and just to add insult to confirm the side he picked wasn't working he fields the same team that scraped the point against Sheffield utd, and for me that was the time I started Questioning his appointment and his contract. He came on M.O Day and told us how the players were not taking chances- well if they arenot taking them who's responsiblity is that?? From then it became IN Pellegrini I dont trust in that match he never came of the bench didnt seem to care and a manager who has lost the passion but he wont be loosing any money he has a brilliant contract he doesnt care if he dont get another job in Football he just F***s of back to Chile and spends his money because other clubs have looked at what hes done at WHU and would not touch him or his back room staff with a barge pole. NEVER once have I seen this brilliant tactician really shake up his formation, NEVER have I seen him put his arm around a player like Cloff does at Liverpool, NEVER have I seen him in the technical area really trying to fire up his players. What I have seen is the impression that I get paid No matter what, and I think this attitude is rubbing off on the players they won't care, they will just go to other Spanish and European clubs and we will be playing in the Championship next season with 35,000 supporters and no atmosphere. I am not enjoying supporting the Hammers at the moment and who have I got to thank for this- our world-class manager Manuel Pellegrini, sooner have Rednapp or Pardew back at least they knew how to fire up the players and show some fight not like this Dipstick- don't waste no more time If he he does'nt change it round by the Arsenal match get him out, if he was sacked tonight we could all see why

Whether its true or not(twitter outlets) the board have stated that Pellegrini has until the end of the year(6games) to turn things around. With Fabianski back in two weeks ,there could be light at the end of the tunnel, but Pellegrini must see the team is so low on confidence and motivation it will take major surgery to get things back on track again.Fabianski's injury was devastating to the team, that can't be stated enough ,as his replacement has depleted the team of all the positives the team had going for them.True,Westham were not brilliant but the football was a lot better than what we have watched in recent games.Having said that ,I am still not convinced Pellegrini is the man to take the club forward, these last 6 weeks has revealed that he seems to be a one trick pony when it comes to setting up the team, his tactical adaptability is poor and his transfers are a lot to be desired. What it has revealed also this slump,is that the British homegrown players have been the ones who are pulling their weight, the foreign talent are the first to drop their heads when the team goes behind.

I think its too late Essex giving him 6 games. The transfer window will be shut and the new guy, even with limited funds needs that option. Levy is total **** but you have to take your hat off to him, dam decisive! All the ducks were in a row, Puch out the back and Jose through the front... calm as you like! We need the same and now. Scarecrow out the back and anyone in the front! Hell, I would even take a punt on Bowyer but preference is still for Gerrard

to get rid of Moyes just as he was turning us around. Just shows how much they understand the game.
I don’t buy this Fabianski excuse either.
He’s a world class keeper and he was top of the league for saves last season.
Doesn’t that tell you what a lot of crap he had playing in front of him??
Correct me if I’m wrong but the same ‘defence’ is still in situ.

This is as dire a situation as I can remember. Our 15 games so far this season have shown the only thing we have in spades is a lack of fight which is the one thing you actually need in this league. To be so easily turned over by the likes of Newcastle, Palace and Burnley is a pitiful as it gets. 6 games to turn it around? It might as well walk now. Nothing coming from Chelsea, Wolves, Arsenal that's for sure. And 4 of those next 6 games are away from home.
