Crikey Mikey, Hammers fans prayed for David Martin, son of West Ham and England legend Alvin Martin, to start in goal to replace 'Calamity Jiminez', lo and behold the 'grey one' acquiesced and started the ex-Millwall stopper with a baptism of fire at the Bridge against high flying Chelsea.

From the first touch, and accompanying cheers from the travelling support, Martin exuded the type of confidence shown by the injured Lukasz Fabianski, that confidence spread throughout the team, and as will be reported in far greater depth went on to win at Chelsea's home since 2002,in the presence of Sir Trev.

Blinding performance from the defence, but every player wearing the Claret and Blue put in a shift, Home grown and 'exotic' 'Foreigners'. Michail Antonio's energy was infectious, it is a pity his finishing was up to the same high level, because if it had been the score line could have been much more emphatic, but hey, what a relief.

Manuel Pellegrini will have a smile that would embarrass a Cheshire cat in the post match, we're going off to get pissed! - Ed
