Could Daniel Sturridge Join West Ham In January?

West Ham United are reportedly leading the race to sign out of favour Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, the English international is frustrated at his lack of playing time at Anfield and could be on his way out of the club this January as claimed by bookmakers like 10bet. He was only introduced in the 83rd minutes of Liverpool's match against Southampton despite their inability to break down the Saints defence, he had hoped his performance in England qualifying matches would earn him a recall to the Reds’ starting eleven.
There have been rumours of the 27 year old leaving Merseyside since the start of the season with Arsenal reported as his potential employer, but more recently news is that West Ham could be his next destination. The Hammers attack has been misfiring and it remains the club’s priority to strengthen that area of the team. The club has been in search of a versatile striker since the end of last season, none of our strikers has scored a goal this season and this contributed to the disappointing results we have had so far. Eight matches have been lost and only five have been won in all competitions since the beginning of the season. The club is currently languishing around the relegation zone in the 17th position.
Italian Simone Zaza has failed to live up to expectations since loan move from Juventus while Andy Carroll has lost his magical touch and ability to stay fit since leaving Newcastle years back. But the club need to get it right this time in the transfer market as we edge closer to January transfer window. We need a striker with creativity and ability to score goals and Sturridge fits the picture of the striker that has such qualities. The former Chelsea attacker has been limited to a few cameo roles this season and he is yet get on the score sheet for Liverpool in the Premier League with Roberto Firmino and new signing Saido Mane ahead of him in the pecking order, however when given the opportunity he is a player that can win games for his team. He has scored four goals in two League Cup games for the Red Devils this season. He formed a formidable partnership with Luis Suarez in 2013/2014 scoring 52 goals together before the later departed for Barcelona.
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly ready to cash in on him in order to make room for his own acquisitions and will listen to offers in the region £25 million. Sturridge is injury prone and that could have been one of the reasons Klopp wants to sell him, If he can remain fit, he would represent a good purchase and offer some fear factor that has been lacking upfront and would even help to redeem the confidence of the team. With him leading the attack there is a positive chance of staying in the Premier League. However, there are still doubts if Sturridge will be willing to leave a potential title winning team for a team battling to avoid relegation, and from West Ham's perspective do they really want to spend over £20 Million on another injury prone striker?

Talented undoubtedly, but that injury history has to be the biggest sticking point and is probably keeping Sully awake at night (if he's interested) or giving him nightmares involving Carroll and Sturridge rotating in the hospital as opposed to the line up! Maybe we could get Liverpool to take Carroll back as part of a swap deal?

Touch this player with a bargepole...he's moody selfish and prone to a long term injury and not really mentally strong IMO.....I will say it yet again use the money to buy a good RB and the rest on Assombalonga.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks Sturridge is overrated. Clearly he thinks he's better than he actually is. Thinks the game evolves around him. Not a team player, does no work when not in possession of the ball. Plus he's more higly strung than a highly strung thing. Hence the injuries, "cant play today boss I've chipped a fingernail so my heads not right". Prima Dona plumsack....

Probably hard not to have an ego like that really. I mean he gets into the England squad without playing and that team represents the "very best" of English talent!

What are the chances of him coming to us?he might come on loan, but a permanent signing?id be very surprised!! the table doesnt lie we are 4th from bottom,so are hardly an attractive option for his massive ego...i suppose we could throw out the old line again "come & play in our magnificent arena!!!!"

All they gotta do is massage that ego. Tell him he is the difference we need, the final piece of the attacking jigsaw. Payet will set him up enough times much like Suarez did for him. I know my last sentence was different player assisting and for a different team but you catch my drift, he can be bigged up to get him to sign if we really do wanna make a serious bid rather than just mouth off in the papers saying who we're after and how much we've got ready to spend. I kinda turned that into a rant but I'm oozy and blurry

is not that much of a problem, we are letting in too many goals and most of them in the last 15 mins, we need defenders and we need to get fitter
