Deja Vu For Hammers Fans As 'Last minute' Deal Revealed

Under fire West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan 'confided' with Sky Sports and Talkshite presenter Jim White that Hammers had made Stoke City a record breaking £25 Million offer in order to bring Joe Allen to the London Stadium on transfer deadline day. In a way Sullivan is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't, but fans will have a more than familiar feeling about the club's January transfer window activities, in fact they have similar 'familiar' sentiments about the club's overall transfer activities and they are essentially, 'we have heard it all before'!
Leaving deals to the last minute is Daniel Levy territory, and like him or loathe him (loathe in our case at the Org) he is an expert at it, because 9 times out of 10 he gets it right. David Sullivan, and it is he alone that decides who arrives and leaves, has got serious previous when it comes to putting late, usually derogatory, bids in for high profile transfer targets, this propensity to smoke and mirror the situation has become much more acute since the ill judged move to the 'ironic' London Stadium. There are only a certain amount of times an owner can 'cry the transfer wolf' before their cry falls on deaf and increasingly angry disenfranchised ears, too often there have been promises of 'Rolls Royce' players only for clapped out Escorts to arrive on loan.

There really seems to be a reality gap appearing in the West Ham hiierarchy's actions, it is as if they refuse to recognise fan discontent and also have their heads buried in the sand with regards to the workings of other 'top flight' football clubs. The Premier League, with the exception of the top six, is comprised of a further fourteen teams desperate to maintain mid table safety or avoid the dreaded drop in to Championship oblivion, they are all prepared to spend big in order to maintain their status, the huge TV revenue they all receive has leveled the playing field financially, a fact that seems to have completely gone over the heads of Sullivan and Co.

What is clearly apparent is that fans have had enough, it won't stop most of them from going to matches, but the atmosphere will become increasingly toxic until the present regime eventually sell up, if and when they do, some of the promises of European football and moving to the next level might actually have a realistic chance of happening!

Final note, why did it never occur to anyone involved in the planning of the Boleyn to London Stadium move, that had the pitch could have been lowered by up to 6 meters which would have meant most of the original lower seating could have been made available for use. - Ed

Obviously never learnt from school that it wasn't big to tell lies to try and impress the big kids. Lets face it, they were probably all bigger than him - Toxic Midget.!!

I might be wrong but wasn’t the idea thought about before being dismissed due to what was potentially under the stadium on account of the original site being a dump?

they never thought about it as it would of meant spending money and that is where they draw the line

£25million bid for allen never came off so why did they not bid for Dendoncker the same amount which would of got him strange that ehh for someone trying so hard

Of course you did Sullivan! That's explains it all. Chin rub. If so why didn't you make that deal on January 1st? Because you never had any intention of spending the money.

We would have a bloody brilliant team of players that Sullivan says he just missed out on. The man is just so unlucky.

Birmingham all over again!!! basically down to Sullivan but Gold is also not blameless in Sullivans bargain basement dealings which hardly ever come off. Birmingham got relegated and never recovered due to cheap players and Bruce like Moyes (at the moment) was just fed up.
Moyes will not stay when the season finishes if he has any sense and the sooner the three muppets go (SUGO and Ms Bradey) the better for our club. I will always support West Ham regardless of who the board are but these last two seasons have been dire and getting worse!!! Sullivan is an out and out liar!!!

Why come out with a statement like that now? What point does it prove,it wasn't successful.Even if there was a bid ,can you honestly believe that Sullivan was offering up front anywhere near the £25m.It was more like £5m up front and installments over a long period, like the Dendonker debacle. When are these jokers going to wise up that clubs don't operate like that .Our board are so out of touch with reality when it comes to buying players, they are more suited to the championship, that's where they belong. They shouldn't be in control of a premiership club because they are continually penny-pinching,they haven't got the financial clout to compete.

Playing well and losing won't keep us in the top flight. Likewise when it comes to the transfer market I don't care who we bid for or how much, all I'm interested in is who came thru the door. Why do we leave everything to the last minute? Get your transfer business done early and there will be no "shoulda, coulda, woulda".

"if I'd been born in Seattle I could have been Jimi Hendrix".......................... but I wasn't
the above statement would be OK for a sound bite from Sullivan "we put a bid in for Ronaldo but he doesn't accept greenshield stamps or cigarette coupons" but we put the bid in didn't we?

This Sullivan bloke dosent get it does he.The shit that roles out of his mouth is stupid.............."I did put a bid in honest I did but....... damn,it was just too late" there was only a month to do the business in,so surely foresight was needed,im no business man but if they cant see a month ahead,im surprised they have got this far, they are pissing up our backs and telling us its raining,again!!!!!..............As I put in a previous post,i think that they are out of their depth in the Premiership,Championship League at a max.The whole thing is on the scale of buying a car but cant afford the fuel to put in to make it run,so it sits in the driveway and decays,so they have bought a football club but cant afford the players to make it work,so dosent progress and drops down.If we don't go this season I bet we will next.

And Sully? What do you want, a pat on the back!!? Maybe if you'd put the bid in earlier Stoke may have come back with an acceptable price to them and you could have got him earlier. No point going in on deadline day ( and let's face it you faxed the offer through with 1min to go) and leaving Stoke with no time to spend the money to get a replacement. Not everyone is like you and happily sells the fit players in the already threadbare squad. Some owners realise you need players to win games not soundbites! twat!

What does telling us we bid for Allen achieve? Even if true why tell us "this is what we could have got? ". Who on earth is interested in how we lost out on a player (again) we are only interested on who we DID get. It's like he is taunting us

A bit more Deja Vu on the BBC website - Athletics World Cup: Eight nations to compete at London Stadium- Now this is taking place on the 14-15 July. How long does it take to get the stadium ready for football after an event like this? Seems like maybe no friendlies at home again.

Just a bit worried about the Chelsea fans how are they gona cope with a comprehensive defeat? I feel so sorry. If only them was any team worse than them.

Green Screen replaces Green Street. But the hardest thing to take in that article is: West Ham are now the club of ridicule, and ridicule is dislike with the jealousy removed. OUCH!!!!

Ha ha classic! Thanks for pointing that out ashes (I can't look at Sullivan in the eye so I didn't look) great pic nev. was that taken just after David Moyes asked for 25 mill to buy joe Allen. Either that or someone has found out a place to store David's dildos.
