West Ham fans can be forgiven if they are feeling underwhelmed by Hammers transfer activity during this window, having been in the driving seat to bring in exciting prospects Smolov, Dendonker And Slimani they are now in the back seat of a cab scraping up the likes of Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill and Cardiff City's 33 year old defender Sol Bamba!
Smolov said of his failed move to the London Stadium: "Firstly, we are only one point behind [Spartak and Zenit] in the battle for a place in the Champions League," Secondly, I've spent two-and-a-half years in Krasnodar, and I think that the club has the right to receive decent compensation for my sale. The main motive for this move was for me to realise my dream of testing myself in one of the strong European championships. During this transfer window many negotiations were held, but there was no proposal that would be acceptable for the club and me. So I will continue to work and play in Krasnodar to help the team achieve results and prepare well for the World Cup, and in the summer I will wait for proposals that Krasnodar will suit and will meet my goals."

Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill, who is reportedly available for between £9 Million and £11Million from the Championship side, couldn't jump into the blacked out 'Hammer wagon' quick enough as he began his journey to have a medical ahead of his 'cut price' transfer, and the rumour linking Bamba from Cardiff to West Ham is a shock one considering Bamba has never played in the Premier League before, he did however begin his career at PSG, but really? Dendonker he is not!

Islam Slimani chose to take an executive jet to Newcastle instead of London in order to sign for the Toon, Mike Ashley's 'girls' looked after him 'all the way' apparently, his current injury is not the same problem for the Newcastle medical staff as it is for those at West Ham, must be something in the water!

It looks as if there will be a bit of a deja vu feeling about this transfer window, lots of talk followed by a negative spend anyone? - Ed

I understand it's the wage bill that has stopped major signings as the two Davids and Bradey have basically agreed far too much wages for players recruited over the last two seasons and overspent the fair play amount by several million. Hence two cheapies (in wage terms) and one loan signing which is close to what I predicted a few weeks ago.
We are still going to struggle right up until the last game I'm afraid and may yet still get relegated unless our injured players return sooner rather than later. At least we have a manager who has surprised most of us myself included in getting the team to not lose in recent weeks!!! and hopefully get the points we need to avoid the drop.

Now Nasri is back on the books. He can be signed even after the deadline date as he is a free agent.
Reece Oxford has been loaned out again to Borussia.
Confirmed that Ayew has signed on a three and a half year contract with Swansea at around 20 million pounds. So the David's have the cash to sign a quality player. Really we should have resigned Stanislas back from Bournemouth. Then are spanking Chelsea 2-0 and he has scored their second goal. Wow, they are even dominating Chelsea, and now it is 0-3 at Stamford Bridge!! OMG, the bottom clubs are getting their act together.

Squad painfully short of players so what does Sullivan do? Reduces the playing squad even more! It's just not funny anymore. Maybe this Preston guy if we sign him is getting us ready for the chumpionship? Well once Sullivan promised us champions league next level and all that but not only are we no where near it we are probably no better off than when they took over! Well they did save us! Pah if they told me today's date I'd still check the paper. Surely no one believes anything they say anymore. It's about time us fans took them to task on this. What a bunch of old egotistical shysters. Anyone know if we can fill the bench on Saturday? Oxford, Burke, ayew and sakho all gone since the last game.

M6 yes I agree, for me we have had boards that have shafted us fans but it's the "making us look like a joke" that is really too much, I've had enough of it! I want them gone. Rumour is that Mario has a 40 million buy out clause. Does anyone really believe they are gona pay that if successful? They shirk at forking out 25 mill let alone 40.

Even if the guy proved he was worth that and more all Sully is working on at the moment is the best excuse to chuck at the fans when he signs for someone else.

Even Conti is now saying that Bournemouth deserved to win the game. Yes, he was honest as they looked so much more clinical attack. All the bottom teams apart from West Brom and Huddersfield seem to get wins or draws from their matches.

AMADOU DETAILS

It looks like it has been a wasted trip to London for Amadou - unless West Ham come back in with a very, very late offer.

One source has told us that Palace have “strung out the negotiations” in order to stop West Ham signing Amadou – as payback for West Ham beating Palace to the imminent signing of Preston striker Jordan Hugill.

Our recruitment Director says we do not want anymore African players and that Palace can have Amadou and good luck etc, plus a few dodgy racist comments about West Ham not wanting any more African players because they cause mayhem when not picked. Even more troubles coming our way now!!!!
