An Ill Wind For Blowing Bubbles

As soon as Sam Allardyce turned up at Goodison Park ahead of Everton's annihilation of West Ham in this evening's match things started to look gloomy, he organised 'his' team by i phone, his principal wish being to re-instate Wayne Rooney in to Everton's starting line up, delving in to his meticulous player records he will have known just how much Rooney loves to score against West Ham, and Rooney duly obliged with a hat trick.

Crucial matches are often decided on narrow margins, and it could be argued that the penalty that led to Everton's first goal awarded against Joe Hart was contentious, equally had Manu Lanzini tucked away the penalty West Ham were awarded when the score was 2-0 perhaps things could have been different, however within moments Rooney got his hat trick with an audacious 35 yard 'worldie'.

Where to from here? Well hell actually if you are a defender or any other player, fan or owner. Next up is Manchester City at the Etihad, bearing in mind the other impending fixtures against Chelsea and Arsenal West Ham could have such a calamitous negative goal difference that come the end of the season only points would help the club avoiding what is increasingly looking like the inevitable drop!

Ironically Andy Carroll missed probably the only game where his presence could have really made a difference, and in a way his absence sums up this desperate and disparate season, so much promise and so much impending loss. Perhaps dropping down to the Championship won't be such a bad thing, the parachute payments are generous and it's not as if the 'big clubs' will be able to sniff out bargains as they were able to do in the past, the fact is the current senior squad is exactly that, 'senior', most are on highly inflated salaries, but fortunately the long term contracts negotiated are not to pernicious, that is if one takes the deals for Robert Snodgrass and maybe Jose Fonte out of the equation.

The fact is Hammer's current squad is top heavy with ageing professionals with little or no sell on value. Slaven Billic's obstinacy when it came to using youth players has come back to bite the proverbial with a vengeance, annoyingly it only takes a quick glance at Tottenham's set up to see a club that have absolutely 'maxed out' the value of their youth set up in a similar vein to when the 'academy' was in full swing at West Ham, and Hammers' unliked North London rivals are succeeding in their business modus operandi of buying young and cheap and selling at their prime for a premium, such business acumen is surely being observed enviously by Lady B's metaphoric bed fellows!

With a supposed 50,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets things don't really appear too serious for the Hammers hierarchy, how many of those will be willing to pay out for Championship football is a matter of some debate, as is the amount of current season ticket holders who would renew given what many consider is the club's almost inevitable potential relegation. It should be remembered that many of the 'economy season tickets' were sold on a two year basis and their could potentially be a mass return of that band of season tickets.

If the dreaded drop does happen there could be many reasons to be cheerful, namely winning! It is inconceivable that 'savvy' owners David Gold and David Sullivan would countenance the sort of decline experienced by Sunderland and the like, astute business men that they are they do know when to splash the cash in order to avoid long term fiscal meltdown, that said it will be interesting to see how they approach the January transfer window,do they go 'gung ho' in an effort to stay in the Premier League or do they 'plan for the future' with bargain basement 'oldies' and young and hungry players?

It will be ground hog day tomorrow for many Hammers fans, there will be dad's feeling guilty that they have inflicted supporting West Ham on their children, but some where a king lies sleeping! Ed

Is it incompetence or just bad luck ,well lets have a look ,we knock down upton park and move to a none descript athletics stadium ,a big problem and one goin back far longer is our ability to buy in absolute shite in the windows ,we have as the owners put it "expectations of euro matches ".
Their was a point in tonights game i thought we were not only goin to get the 2 goals back but we would go on to win it ,Lanzini 's peno miss put payed to that train of thought for 20 minutes into the second half we were unrecognizable from the shite.we played in the first ,but as someone once said "events dear boy events "we played a team that were absolute shite and we made them look firs rate 4. 0. In my opinion it was just bad timing ,they appoint that fat fuker the day before and from that moment our fate was sealed ,the slimy bastard up in the stand cheering and clapping his new team and their darlin Rooney it was clear to me he didnt give a fiddlers fuck if Everton went south or not just as long as they beat these cockney s who had the audacity to sack him ,or was it the fact that they are paying him 9 mii for 18 months i only hope that if we do go tits up they come with us ,by the way we are now officialy the worst team for conceding in the prem ,and guess who we relieved of that accolade, thats right Everton

I don't buy this going down will be good for us cobblers. I reckon if we go down, we're done for. Our owners buy shite at inflated prices. Why play Ayew up front when Sackho is fit to play? Cos he cost 20mill? Arnie was absolute dyer, and I mean Keiran Dyer. Would have been a blessing if he got injured, 24Mill, Carroll gets injured before our biggest game of the season - 15mill. I mean FFS I honestly don't remember as dog shite a performance as that 1st half.
I've tried to "inflict' WH on my 8yr old son. Thankfully it seems he doesn't give a crap!! At least he should go forwards in life happy!!
We could well end the next 3 games on -30 GD the way we're conceding goals. 4 against ManU, Liverpool and now Everton, 3 against Southampton, Newcastle, Tottenham, Brighton, I mean seriously. If we come out of this mess I will be amazed!!
As for Joe Hart. I don't care what clause he's got in his contract, how good he might once have been, or how far his head is up Sullivan's arse but he needs to be dropped full stop. A worse keeper in our colours I can't remember!

I actually don't give a shit who gets injured, it may mean someone else is given a chance (the only chance they'll get) and does well. Winston Reed, Andy Carroll, Sakho etc, who cares they're all shite. I just sat on the couch last night in stunned silence, I did watch the whole game but avoided the after-match ramblings., I know we're crap and I don't need a former children's CBBC TV presenter to clarify this to me. I'm still wrapped in my old West Ham scarf, but it's not the same anymore. Boleyn gone, no direction, crap manager after crap manager, bloody hell what's going on? A strange part of me is glad we're doing badly as it may make the hierarchy understand that first and foremost and above all, we are a football club steeped in a glorious tradition and we're not who they want us to be. Surely this just can't go on and as Hugh Cornwell once said 'Something better change'.

we went into a game against a side with no confidence and still we played with just one upfront and to say we were sloth like in our movement would be insulting the said animal....so what was Moyes gameplan? clearly it was to keep things tight and hope to nick a goal how negative was that...sak came on and immediately we looked a better side...not hard i no from the first half performance but we looked more like a side with purpose..of course nothing came of it but moyes better wise up fast as we need wins because a gaps opened and it will get wider...january is the crucial month for us with a lot of sides we can beat but not with just one up top....as for the players arnie/carroll/ogbonna/obiang can all go in january if theres anyone interested...but on the brightside if ok when we go down reece oxford/rice/martinez could be the base for something good.
