Having already worked with Samir Nasri it really was a no brainer for Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini to sanction a short term loan deal for Samir Nasri, once the Frenchman had proved his fitness following a long suspension for inadvertently having broken FIFA doping laws. Here is what Pellegrini said “I am very pleased to welcome Samir to West Ham United, he is a player I obviously know well from our time together at Manchester City and I am happy to be working with him again. He has been working very hard here in recent weeks to build up his fitness and condition after a long period without playing, and he is now very determined to return to his best."
He continued, “Samir will give us another dimension in our attacking play, he is a very technical player, with excellent quality on the ball, and the ability to create big moments in important matches. He already has very good experience of the Premier League and we hope that he will have a positive impact on the team between now and the end of the season.” After making his debut for Marseille’s reserve team at 16, the teenager made his senior debut in a Ligue 1 meeting with Sochaux in September 2004, aged 17 years and three months, the following year, he won the UEFA Intertoto Cup. Here is what Nasri had to say on signing, “Coming back to the most competitive league in the world, with a team full of ambition with a manager that I know…. it’s the best job in the world, and I’m really excited about it.” Nasri was given his lengthy doping ban for using an intravenous drip treatment and has been without a club since January 31st after leaving Turkish side Antalyaspor.
Nasri made 166 appearances at the Stade Velodrome, including 28 in European competition and was voted UNFP Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year in 2007. He was then brought to England Arsenal in July 2008 and in three seasons he scored 27 goals and registered 16 assists in 126 games, he was also named in the Premier League Team of the Year in 2011. Manchester City swooped for him in August 2011 and he marked his first season at the Etihad Stadium by scoring a number of vital goals as they won their first Premier League title. Nasri remained a pivotal figure following Manuel Pellegrini’s arrival in 2013, adding a second Premier League winner’s medal and producing a Man of the Match performance as City won the EFL Cup in 2014.
Nasri has been capped 41 times by his country, scoring five goals and appearing at the 2008 and 2012 UEFA European Championship finals. As a youngster he scored the winning goal as Les Bleus won the UEFA European U17 Championship title in 2004. It is to be hoped that he can hit the ground running as Hammers are in the middle of their worst ever injury crisis, bargains are rarely had during the January transfer window, but Nasri's transfer is unique in that he could not play before the 1st of January 2019 because of his doping ban but was able to train with the rest of the squad in order to regain his fitness.
Nasri represents a good bit of business with minimum risk, it is believed the club have first option to sign him should things work out the way Manuel Pellegrini has planned. Now all he has to do is get Victor Moses in as a right back! - Ed

In Pellegrini we trust
He has had time to show the boss and everyone at training what he is capable of so if they have given him a contract then that's good enough for me. I don't think the two Davids would have agreed unless they where sure. He will bring a little bit of quality to the side and experience and I expect him to be at least on the bench against B&HA.

Considering that West Ham had the most mediocre display of 2018 v Burnley, any new player must be an upgrade. The midfield were second best by far in all departments, whether it was energy, creativity or strength. Couple that with Andy Carroll's reputation of so called "deliberate aerial injuries" on opposing defenders where he is always cautioned, I think Nasri could be a short term answer to Lanzini. Having said that, he was not a regular starter after Pellegrini left Man City and was then shipped out. But against Brighton, why the Hell do they not play Anderson as a forward, and bring in Masuaku to start as a midfielder. Antonio can start as the other forward if Zabaleta returns. Arnautovic does not look fully fit, but then we have the option of both Carroll and Arnie as "super" subs.

I think it's all down to him ,Anderson, most games lately he excels but the odd game ,Burnley ,Watford he just can't seem to get goin ,his performances either lift or let down the whole team
