We can win this - no Arnautovic, any word on Shaqiri? Just hope they dont kick lumps out us and add to our injuries

It's absolute rubbish .. If Stoke score first then we are *ucked playing like this our Passing is absolute Garbage albeit the Midfield area is totally swamped !

"imo" This Stadium favours the Visiting Teams it's totally *hit !

Yeah agreed there Steve...The onus is on us to take the game to Stoke - Midfield is very congested but there's a massive space between the defence and midfield, Stoke winning loads of second balls coming out from Ginge's headed clearances as an example - Stoke are bastards to play against as they flood the midfield and choke it.
Payet and Lanzini need to get on the ball more and Ayew needs a bit more support -Wonder what Bilic will do second half??

Feel like Payet and Lanzini sometimes don't graft. Ayews not a striker and not fully fit yet. Was really hoping to see Sakho and Carroll on the bench as BBC predicted but sadly was not the case

Bought bloody time, the changes might be what we needed, a bit of youth and energy.

First comment - I think its andy bell end - 'they dont deserve it'... stick that up your posterior mate. All game long he has been digging at us, from the crowd noise to the ball boys and distance from the pitch

We certainly know how to blow a win this season. Very disappointing so far and the owners have to look at a striker in the summer or we are in serious trouble.

slav may have changed the system but he needs to change some of the players and make it clear you don't put the effort in then your out and I include payet in that.....look at burnley no where near the resources we have but they do have two things we don't that's grit and determination something severely lacking in this squad right now.....like it or not we are in a relegation dogfight once more....we have had a relatively easy run and got next to nothing from that and now we are facing a nightmare run of fixtures with probably only manure being the one struggling to find form from that group.....by the time December rolls in we will be well and truly in the brown stuff.....pack zaza back off to Italy tore to turkey as well and get samuelsen back from Blackburn and ffs put bid in for assombalonga at forest he knows where the goal is and we have players who can provide him with the service to score....its going to be a long hard winter and as west ham fans we have seen plenty of those so nothing new there.....just had to get that off my chest

Thats one consolation mate , i still think its this monstrosity of a ground , you cant go from being a bloody good team to being a piss poor one overnight ,it must be havin a psychological effect on them

Burkie 1

burkie .. Totally agree at the end of the day it was not initially designed to be a Football Stadium "imo" it just favours the Visiting Teams atmosphere and psychology wise .. At least when we were playing at Upton Park it was perhaps worth 10/12 points a Season being the Home Team at this New Ground we are on a par with the Away Team !

Make no mistake we are more than likely going to be in a Relegation Battle this Season now and what we look at has the Lesser Teams are also getting Positive Results along the way ! .. I think we will now need at least 2 Big Signings in January !

The problem as well is i dont see any leaders on the pitch, noble is too busy either playing the ball sideways or backwards, payet & lanzini are well off the pace,& what happened to fernandes!he came on yesterday & looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights...

it makes me want to cry. I guess the London Stadium was a necessity, but it's been nothing but a curse so far. Nevertheless, at some point it has to become home, because we don't have any other. Hughes said it is a slow pitch. That doesn't favour the way we tried to play last season. But maybe we will still be the first to figure it out, accept it, use it to our advantage. I agree, burkie, it will be hard to find a point from the next four -- But who knows? The Premier League can be strange.

Even the Stoke Manager Mark Hughes commented how he felt it was a difficult pitch to play on !

i don't want to make you cry!! but as for the necessity of the London stadium I have to disagree....it has been said we could not develop the old east stand and fill the corners in because of the bus station etc made it impossible but there were plans showing it was viable it was just expensive .... so we've made our bed and have to lay in it now but with the recent publicity it just makes you wonder was it really worth it

have been very poor, we have no impact to come on and do something, will be interesting to see if Carroll and Sakho will make a difference, still want change the midfield, I know.

Adrian, a great shot stopper but will make at least one major error per game, time for a change. Put Randolph between the sticks until we can find a better keeper. Ayew is not the answer up front when you play this system, Sako or Christmas is the answer.

David james.... pull off some great saves but all the while your waiting for the rush of blood and the inevitable howler to follow

Should have pulled him in midfield and withdrawn Nobel. Wrong decision to takeoff Obiang. Problem was Noble always trying to slow down the pace. This helps all the opposing sides to re-organise and make it seem that they have the pace compared to West Ham. There was hardly an occasion that an attack was started in defence and involved a series of passes. It always ended with a long ball. Yes, it boils down to one thing as well - our defence. Bilic finally had a plan after those huge gaffes. In this match apart from that stupid Adrian mistake, Stoke kind of tested Adrian just once in the whole match. That free kick that should have a comfortable save. Also, I was impressed by Fletcher's contribution. He should start as a forward along with Antonio, as he held up the ball really well.

Trust me if Bilic links up Ayew with Payet and Lanzini in midfield, and plays Obiang in a more defensive role along with two forwards like Fletcher and Antonio, West Ham will compete more effectively with the bigger teams. Ayew has been more effective in Swansea as an attacking midfielder.

I Agree good post .. But I also think it's time now also to give Randolph a run in Goal !

My mate who is a Stoke Season Ticket Holder went to the game yesterday with a few mates .. He said as far as "Looks" go our New Ground is very good .. But as far as it being used for a Football Stadium goes it's easily the Worst Away Ground he has been to so far this Season .. The Pitch is Slow .. Atmosphere Questionable .. When the Ball goes out for a Throw it takes ages to get it back .. It's also a Long Walk to the Ground with plenty of Areas along the way where there could be some potentially Arranged Trouble etc .. He is glad Stoke don't play there and also glad he will only have to go once a Season .. Apparently even the Stoke Fans were Singing "We prefer Upton Park" .. Lol

He was also very surprised we only started with one up front and felt it played into Stoke's hands and also the position where initially Antonio who he rates very highly started the game.
