End of Season Out's and New Season In's? Allardyce not included in this one.

For me we have to offload the following at the end of the season:
Nolan, Cole, O'Brien, Jarvis, Maiga, Jussi

Coming In?:
Hernandez (rumoured but can't see it), Ings, Schmeichel, Guzan, Caulker, Benteke (can't see it), Mirallas, Song (good start/poor finish but I would sign him)

The above includes rumours and personal preferences but I would also like to see the use of Reece Oxford as we have to start playing him if he is as good as everyone says. In addition I would like to see Elliot Lee be given a chance as I don't see the point of him being at our club given the selections that have been made over the past couple of years.

So this is quick list but who would you offload and on-board?

I think the players 'in' is much harder than the players 'out.' Lots of players I would like to see come to us, but so many variables (not least who our manager will be!) it's hard to name names. I think Demel might also be pensioned off, but might depend on who we can bring in. Our midfield badly needs more pace, Kouyate is the only one who can rapidly get up to support the forwards.

I think if a new man is appointed, they know Westham have a limited transfer budget ,but I get the feeling the board will go for it in the summer and splash the cash £30million maybe or possibly more.We know that the first eleven can hold their own in the premier league with any team, when we consider the early season form, so the main concentration will be improving the squad quality, having said that it can only be a good thing if they could improve 1 or 2 first team positions.Downing has very able competition in Amalfitano(although often used out wide this guy has a great eye for goal and good movement as has Zarate) in that top of the diamond role,if Allardyce could take his blinkers off.But someone like Cabaye who is unsettled at PSG would be a great addition for that role,a specialist freekick taker as well. I am just gutted Ravel Morrison has gone because he would have been another ideally suited .Valencia,Sakho and Carroll I rate highly ,but they are players for two different systems of play and thats what Allardyce can't seem to work out.To include all three in the same team as a front line would be great to watch under a technically gifted manager but under Allardyce we all know what style of football it would be.I think against certain teams that Carroll/Nolan pairing up front would be fruitful as they have a great understanding ,but I cannot see it being used with a new manager.Nolan's game is suffering because of the role he is being played. The squad needs competition for these places,a quality cover player for Carroll as Cole will be gone come the summer and another top notch forward to give competition to Sakho and Valencia, although I feel Zarate is very able to cover, but Hernandez, like you state ANTKB, would be a great addition.Midfielders like Poyet and Jarvis have been held back under Allardyce, but I think they have the quality to keep. Its the youngsters like Cullen,Lletget we have yet to see ,but will they get their opportunity,I doubt it under Allardyce.Bully, you mention more pace in midfield ,and I think that is key to get that high tempo game going again that the team were playing earlier in the season. And the squad definitely needs some more cover in defence and goal keeper ,I think we are looking at 7 or 8 players(2 to go straight into the first team and 5 better quality squad players),that's based on ALL the current best first team players remaining.

"The 1st eleven can hold their own in The Prem"!! Really? How many points have they accumulated since Xmas?!! " Carroll and Nolan can be fruitful up front"!! When is Carroll ever fit to play? When did Nolan last have anything influential to contribute to a Premiership game? "Zarate is able to cover". How many Prem games has Zarate had a major effect in ( for Bham,West Ham and QPR). Don't want to share football chat with you but if you would like to share what your drinking or smoking.

im convinced Song should be playing much further up , he's a creative player , and playing in front of the backs doesn't suit him , he seems to be under to much pressure and isnt fast enough once he makes a mistake to chase back ,wouldn't be all that gone on , Schmeichel though

Burkie 1

OUT: Nolan, Cole, Jarvis, O'Brien, Demel, Song, Nene, Carroll, Maiga (Some of these will be hard to shift!)

IN:Love to see Hernandez, Ings and maybe Belfodil. Need a few more as well to make up for losses
DEVELOP: Love to see Oxford, Burke and Poyet brought into the picture. Not sure anyone else has EPL pedigree.
HANG ON TO: Jussi -- for mentoring especially. Jenkinson. Collins -- Still has something left.
CORE OF NEW TEAM: Valencia, Sakho, Hernandez, Noble, Kouyate, Poyet, Tomkins, Reid, Adrian, Cresswell, Jenkinson
MANAGER: El Loco Bielsa. Go for it!

Belfodil out from Milan and not one goal in 22 games apparently, so I can't see this one being of benefit even though we are constantly linked with him.

you know I like Carlton Cole burkie but yes time to let him go and he will be a West Brom come July as Pullis wants him, I hope Cole gets game time and scores a few yet of course not against us. Nolan, Demel, O'Brien, Jarvis, Maiga and Zarate out. Jussi is handy to keep around and in I would go for Jenkinson as a must, Austin from QPR, Boyd from Burnley.

what worries me is hanging on to some of the players we already have due to the points we have given away euro football looks unlikely next season will the likes of sakho kouyate want champion league football next year

and they deserve the chance. If we could make Europa League at least, they'd have a reason to stay on with us. Don't forget Valencia, too. Once he settles, he could be great.

Both on long contracts, both don't see the type to "go on strike," don't see either of them walking into a starting spot for a CL team. "IF" they did get a big offer, would be a good test of our owners.

For the first time in many seasons I am not so concerned with the "outs" apart from the usual suspects..Cole, Nolan etc. but I am surprised that with QPHaHaha likely to drop that this lad is rarely mentioned in the press for a move... what do you think?

If Allardyce remains in charge then I can see us going for him in the summer

At the game the other week I commented to the guys sitting around me about how lively this guy was and how good he is on the ball, he also likes to get forward in support and looks creative. I read a rumour somewhere earlier that we may be in for him so does anyone else agree? In my opinion Jenkinson for £8-10m is way too much for a full back, despite the fact he has played well for a number of games. Trippier for £2-3m would be good business.

Agree, but competition might bring his price above the £3 1/2 mill I've seen quoted. Wenger seems to be playing games with Jenks, and 10 million is too much, he's decent but not fantastic.

That Bournmouth are going in for him . Last summer we got all our new players in quick. I wonder if Sugo will do the same or wait for the manger, if new to see who he wants.

That's one of the probs right there. If they wait for a new manager he's not going to have anytime to assess the squad before they go on...sorry continue their summer holidays. So if Sam goes, recruitment almost falls completely onto the two Daves. How does that sit with the potential new manager coming in unless he's already been identified and has provided a list of targets or Sam has his targets and will give the list to the Daves at his sentencing hearing. To of that list will probably be a 5yr contract for Nolan!

Keep Adrian, Cresswell, Tomkins, Reid, Kouyate and Sahko. (Dont know enough about Poyet to put him in either category). Accept any offer for any other player on our books. Prioritise getting rid of Noble,Jarvis and Nolan as they are the 3 players that slow us down totally and make us 1 of the slowest moving and thinking teams in the history of our our club and the game in general. Trippier good shout. Austen good shout. Beharinho would be worth a look. Miralles good shout. Boyd decent shout. Bolaise from Palace would be worth a shout. Robertson from Hull as back up/competition for Cresswell. Wiltshire (if not deemed too injury prone). Might look at Townsend (needs regular football to thrive). Huddleston.

Completely agree regarding Noble, how they've given him a 5 year contract is beyond me, he's morphing into Nolan before our eyes, God only knows what he'll be like in a couple of years time. With the exception of Kouyate I think our midfield needs complete overhaul, we need quicker distribution, even better if it's forward rather than sideways all the time!

Apparantly "he bleeds Claret and Blue". Must be that. Cannot possibly be anything football related. One of the slowest (moving and thinking) players involved in the game in the last 20 years. "Should have England caps"!!! Mmmmmmm. Its like employing somebody in your manufacturing of space ship industry because they are good at making the tea but paying them the same as the Engineers!! One of the many bafflers that that the modern day game throws up!!! Who knows what Song might have achieved had he not been lumbered with him as his "partner"!!

I would add some others to this despite the acclaim. I am not convinced by Cresswell as a defender. Great going forward and if a good figure came in for him I would be tempted to sell or maybe give him another year to develop. Despite Noble having a 5 year contract and being homegrown I think he should go as he is far too slow unless we change our formation. Valencia I thought would have got better but I am not convinced by him but maybe a new manager would use him differently. Demel needs to go as he is injury prone and probably past his best. Song is a problem for me as he is up and down. Whether we can or should afford him is a difficult question. Again a new manager (so ta ta Allardyce and thanks for some of the things you have done) would use him differently. In terms of ins I think Mirallas and Austin would be good buys and Gestede too. Cannot seeing us getting Ings as other clubs will be trying to get him. We really need a good creative midfielder in Cazorla mode but not sure who we could afford. I need to think of who else might be on the radar after the game next week.

With the emergence of numerous rumours of late, my list of 'Ins' has now changed completely:

Trippier (£3.5m), Podolski (£6m), Corluka (£3.5m?), Remy (£8m), Song (if it's £5m), Cabaye (loan).

The other obvious choice is Modric, but at £120k per week and 2 years left on his contract I doubt this will happen.

None of the above would break the bank!podolski always rated the man, unstoppable on his day, also remy & cabaye would be great business....

Why can't we buy players like that? He looked good against us this year and had rave reviews! £2m for a year loan deal (Jenkinson) v £3.5m for a permanent deal......

I think Sully is trying hard, but we have to remember there are many other clubs out there also trying to get new players in, most players we are linked with we won't get, else we'd end up with a 50 man squad! :-)

There was I this morning typing on here about Payet and his agent's 'tweet tweet rave delete' episode, and as I pushed the save button.......the blooming server went down! The next thing I know he's posted a main topic and mine was undermined by the 'Guvnor!'

Made me chuckle as great minds think alike obviously!

Apparently we have enquired about taking Salah on loan from Chelski. He is quality and would provide the balls into the box for Sakho and Carroll and would add the attacking flare us fans have missed. Add Payet and I will be running up the stairs alongside Ollie to get into Upton Park next season!

I've read that Fiorentina have an option to take him on second year, and he's meeting them today about it. That doesn't sound very hopeful for us :-(
