At long last Rooney has been dropped for tonight's game against Slovenia. England may not win it tonight though (probable draw imo)
I have always said England had a bright future with the U21's (they have qualified for the European U21 championships already under Southgate)
Gareth Southgate ensures his teams retain possesion and counter attack which they were unable to do against minnows Malta due in my mind to the reliance on Rooney who slowed the game down far too much and for that reason he has been relegated to the bench and rightly so, he is not good enough..........end of.
Deli Ali is far better and will take players on as do most of the midfield players under Southgate
Is he good enough as England senior manager??? only time will tell over the next three games! For me he fits the bill knowing and working with all the bright young players who are now coming through to the senior squad.

We are sh!te!!!
Henderson, Alli AND Dier in the centre and Walcott on the right all had stinkers and we could have easily lost the game. I admire Slovenia for their work rate though and the pressure they put us under.

We will more often than not get through qualifiers but we will never win a major tournament in my lifetime imo.

Slovenia caught us with our pants down at least five times in the match... they only lacked a sophisticated striker to win the game! Once again, big Mick doesn't get his chance. What was the point of dropping Rooney and then bringing him on late in the game? I suppose he was ineffectual for only 15 mins this way... I still think Andros Townsend was the one who got away for us this season in the transfer market - he would of fit right in for us at right back... we should of snatched him out of Palaces grasp at the off

I personally look at the team sheet before the England games, if no West Ham, I don't bother. I'm tired of it. Picking players from just Spurs, Man United and Liverpool is so obviously not F***ING working. Now what other Spurs players should we pick for our next game? They can all go and stick it up their fat arses. Twats

I did not see the point in Antonio being picked for 3 squads and not getting a sniff, Rashford for all his talent is lightweight, I know Kane was missing and we all know Hodgson playing him wide v Iceland was a disaster. Rooney came on, why? To me he just slows play down and teams who look at playing England as a sort of "Cup Final" are able to get behind the ball, I thought Cahill and Stones had a mare and despite the fact I am not Joe Harts biggest fan he did very well, Southgate wants England to be brave well he in turn should be a little braver i his team selection! (btw don't care much for Sturridge either.)

Was going to post the same!England are just not good enough & the media, etc need to accept it...weve got through qualifying stages of the last few tournaments because weve played nations that are actually worse than us!!Nil-nil against slovenia,is par for the course, they are JUST AS GOOD as england or even better...
We havnt had a decent side since 96,the venables era when the players actually had some pride playing for their nation...
I was on holiday the weekend, when we played the mighty malta,i walked past a bar & it was on (i had completely forgot about it..hence the interest!!) i watched the 2nd half,& it was absoulutely shocking just like against iceland...
Deli ali for instance,i know hes a spud & all that but he is absolute shite...he missed an open goal, that i could have netted & im a 51 year old, overweight plasterer!!;)

as soon as players were selected based on which club they played for, it was always going to go downhill. Heskey, P. Neville. , Butt, Wise, I mean seriously You combine the qualities of those players together and you end up with a shit player still. It seemed too hard to think outside the box and with a watertight contract and sky high salary half the managers just couldn't be arsed.
