First in the queue

Paulo Fonseca.....seen at sullivans mansions yesterday evening and allegedly interviewed for 75mins about the managers job.....emery(not dick)pellegrini and Benitez supposedly our other targets to manage the club...how long will the process take? not sure the way our board go about things but they have to make a choice and make it quick....So Fonseca what does he bring to the table? knowledge of the portugese transfer market no doubt which it seems to be what Sullivan is currently interested in....but why leave a club in the champions league for a team with dodgy owners and a disgruntled fanbase?

Just don't know about him. Not a "safe" bet -- no EPL experience. Could be another Bilic. Does he have the maturity and resilience to face the pressures of the EPL? Zola, a very nice guy, did not. Does he command the authority to earn the respect of a couple of dozen overpaid prima donnas? Bilic, a player's manager, did not. Does he have the balls to face down the unholy trinity when they won't give him money for players or when they make the deals themselves? I think Moyes had at least the first two qualities, and looked like showing the third with his end of season comments. Moyes would be a pretty safe pair of hands. After that last season, I kind of want safety first. But yes, I appreciate what Moyes' detractors say -- he's old school and ultimately we have to move forward.

apparently, we need not despair because the board say they've had over 40 applicants for the job. the nonsense begins again. same with our transfers, linked to everyone and his dog, now apparently we're such a wonderful prospect that the queue for the job is so feverish its like the alamo to keep them out.

The way it works, is Sully asks a series of questions and then picks the one that fits his vision, ie. who has responded lowest to the question, How much money will it take to fix the team. The lowest is then the least disappointed when Sully goes rooting around in outer Mongolia for our new keeper and the Fijian national side for the defence! Noble's good enough for another season or 20 so no need for a midfielder and Arnie's been a revelation up front so the 20 goal a season striker is not needed. Arnie got 11. Hugill cost 9mill. 20!!
