Not the choice of the majority, I think that most of us would have liked to see Rafa at the helm but it looks like Manny will be our next manager and the bookies have suspended betting and they don't do that unless they are certain they are going to lose money. I am happy with him he has a good pedigree won European league titles and the fa cup and Premiership titles. One thing for sure we did not want Rannerri another nice guy and 2 months in the players would start taking liberties like they did with Slaven Billic.
I would have liked to see a younger manager but Roy Hodson hasn't done too bad at the palace and as long as Manny gets results, and gets us a cup run whose worried just as long as the players at west ham are a lot younger than him

If the deal is done, I'll judge him for what he does for us, especially under the impossible task of working with this board. I don't have any pre opinions on him just hope we play better football, look organised fit and the team gives us hope as fans. A lot of of fans are liking him and his character to John lyall.

I like what he did at Man City and his behaviour. I believe he will try to play in a style that the deluded fans want to see. Whether he survives beyond Christmas when we are propping up the Premier League remains to be seen.

The board don't start interfering and listen to the manager when its on football matters especially when it comes to signing players...no more parachuting in a player because Sullivan likes him(Hart)and disrupting things from the get go.....the manager should be allowed(as obvious as it should be)to sign players to fit the vision and style of play he has for the team...where the board should have the decision is on the money....I am not talking about when they make stupid low bids for players clearly no intention of getting but just trying to look good to the fans saying look at us look who we are after....enough of that rubbish....I accept as a club we cannot start throwing around £30/40 million bids on 2/3 players but with the money they have been making I think a sizeable budget should be made available and explain to the manager whomever that is to be what the limit it is and as usual by selling you can generate more....can/will the board stop interfering with player recruitment we shall see but as the old saying goes a leopard cant change its spots

A very dignified man, who has class etc. But is he really right for us? He does like to play 2 up front remember Dzeko and Aguero. Wonder whether he'd fetch Kolorov and Dzeko, Toure etc. I can here the songs now "Are you Citeh in disguise"? I'd like a younger more dynamic Manager personally....

would work as two up front? With Mario and Lanzini behind them?

I've expressed reservations about Pellegrini, but I'm ready to get behind him (and even Sullivan) if they do the right things here, which include: (1) Investing in player recruitment, (2) Leaving player recruitment up to the manager & director of football, (3) Retaining the best players on our current roster, (4) commitment to getting the best out of our players.

Do those things and we have a decent chance of playing competitive, entertaining football AND challenging in the 7th-10th places. I won't speak of Europe yet, because we just escaped relegation. A year of safety, good cup run and some exciting matches would be fine for me.

That makes perfect sense. I thought Arteta would have been a bad appointment (was it ever serious?). My question here is whether Emery was ever a serious candidate for the Hammers job? Was Benitez? I don't really see any evidence of either.
