I think most fans agree, the way things have gone not just this season but under G&S has been pretty much dire. We've become a stale side with under performing players. The move to the 'glorious' new stadium has not been met with the same shiny performances on the pitch. to be honest, we're an embarrassment at home. the way we capitulate against teams is disgraceful. I thought Moyes was a safe pair of hands with potential to move us forwards…but now i think not. My suggestion would be to thank Moyes for keeping us up (if he does), and then do whatever it takes to lure Howe to the club. he may be untried at other 'bigger' clubs, he may fail miserably but the point is, we're stale, we're stuck in this 'no identity' on the field. we've got players with the wrong attitudes, inconsistent….its a mess. If, and its a big if, Howe could be tempted for a new challenge, one that perhaps he could see at a bigger club than Bournemouth, i'd say lets take the chance. We would have a method, some excitement especially at home if his history is anything to go by, and he could begin to sort the club out down the tiers into the youths etc using his philosophy. he's young, not an oldie like moyes, he has new ideas, he buys sensibly players who produce and fit into his style of play. He is also very capable of giving bigger teams a good game, something we are useless at nowadays. I can see him working out. We don't have much to lose, he's also got plenty of prem league experience now so not a gamble on that front. Maybe he can't take bournemouth any further, maybe he's ready for a fresh start too? thoughts people?

I just think some managers are just made for the one club and thats him with Bournemouth, Allardyce at Bolton, Moyes at Everton, Pards at Reading, Curbs at Chalton .... but they become journeymen and believe the hype of the media. Moyes has to go, his record is the lowest win rate in the clubs history at 27%!
Common denominator
With your call of managers Dartford (maybe not so much Pardew) is that they were/are all at their respective clubs for long periods of time and were able to build from a platform and consolidate their teams. Here at Upton Park, (Sorry, the Meccano Stadium) with our deluded fans, that is NEVER gonna happen. Take your pick from the managers our esteemed owners have chosen from Curbishley, Zola, Grant, Sam, Bilic, and probably not so much Moyes, but who of them all, seemed to have a progressive blueprint?
Something's got to change.
I'd be in favour of Howe or someone like him. One concern I have is that we've been in this malaise so long that virtually everything is the problem. It's going to take more than one season. But at least we could start heading in the right direction.

Great post dicksy. I like you would like Howe maybe even dyce. But that's an opinion. Let's get away from that and look at the rest of your post. I'd say you pretty much have everything spot on! Stale and no identity are the big ones. If this club is ever gona work again we need to address this in the next managerial change. Moyes has very much floundered in the last few games. It's like he is down to crossing his fingers and hoping now. The club needs a revolution both on the pitch and off. To see yet another tired old has been (pulis or Bruce) at the helm next season would break us. A lot of the media just don't get it. Anyone outside the top 7 have very little chance to win anything, so we want ENTERTAINMENT for our money. We want EXCITMENT. Who gives a sh1t if we finish 8th playing the Moyes or bfs way? If I'm shelling out over 100 notes I'm want it to be worth it. All the media are saying why are Everton giving Sam a hard time they are now 8th. Well believe it or not they probably want value for their money.

That's what is needed regarding the playing staff and a new transfer policy regarding how the club go about recruiting players is crucial...already stories leaking of several portugese players being targeted for this price that price etc....this has to stop proper research needs to be done on players and instead of trying to look like we are competing for so called elite players lets be realistic in our targets....personally I don't need or want so called big name players on huge wages clearly unconcerned as to how the team performs.. Give me some players with fire in there bellies who have something to prove.

DITM, RNI -- that's exactly right. That's the number one thing that has to change. I would take Howe or Dyche in a minute if they would come, hand them the keys and the money and say: "Build us a team with an identity". And that means pretty much a complete makeover. One thing worth saying in case Sullivan has a cunning plan: I don't think we should venture into the lower leagues LOOKING for our identity!!!

If we had an identity the fans could get behind the situation a lot easier. I'd say it might bring everyone together a lot more. Its that that makes the club seem like it's not West Ham anymore and why would we get behind a club that isn't what we signed up for decades ago? It's like we have changed our allegiance and football fans just don't do that.

I personally wouldn’t take Dyche. He’s had a lot of luck this season and his team have scored less than a goal a game at home, that’s fine at Burnley but not at a club like ours.
I’d be going after Brendan Rodgers, Eddie Howe or Marco Silva. With 75 million and entrust them to start making a team. Reid, Byram, Hart, Fernandes, Carroll, Hernandez and Hugill can all go to the highest bidder.
The money cannot be wasted - targets need to be young and determined with due diligence taken on their profile, not more old mercenaries. There are a lot of good bargains out there to find. If we get the recruitment wrong again I fear we’ll be down this time next year.

I think Moyes is a good coach. But he's not a progressive manager and would not know the right talent to identify.
We've been lucky and survived this year, if the recruitment isn't right next year, we will go down!
People have been saying loads of money needs to be spent- it doesn't- the funds just need to be there for the right player. Eg) if a good player becomes available just pay the fee. We could assemble some players for our problem positions easily and for right money if we act fast.

It's really not a hard job - that would improve our squad immeasurably and be an outlay of about 30 million with agent and sign on fees - wages off set by hernandez, Byram, Collins & Fernández being sold.

Slaviša Jokanović has also done great in his first full season at Fulham,set out to finish top six which he has achieved.
The fans favourite is Benitez,think he is well tested at premiership level and has a great CV ,he would be my choice as well.Knows his stuff in the transfer market and has pulling power.Give him £100m to work with ,he will turn us into a top 6 side.
