a win is a win. its over and we're through. chelsea next, so we all know we have got to start improving fast. yesterday i was surprised, very surprised to see oxford and fletcher on the bench. if oxford isn't fancied to start this one i don't know what game he will. in my view calleri is being played over fletcher simply because he came 'from argentina' an bilic feels he has to give him a chance. In my view calleri isn't good enough and fletcher should be ahead of him in the pecking order. i also don't understand this need for us to use randolph. our defence is pants at the moment so at least keeping adrian in there adds some stability but this new phenomenon of switching goal keepers for tournaments is upon us and in my opinion its ridiculous. a back up keeper is just that and has to wait his turn. you can't tell me now that the goal keeper plays 'too much football' too? all this said, we got the goal in the end and hopefully the win gives the team a lift. however the test is to come at the weekend to see what if anything has improved.

agree.didn't watch it other than goals on tv but by all accounts we were poor first half and had more posession second half but nobody to put the ball in the net..until Payet's free kick.on the clips i saw accrington failed to convert a few chances and our defence looked all over the place.
I'll take the win though and hope it kick starts our season

In five years we are going to pay silly money for a defender half as good as Oxford, when with a little bit of care we could hang on to him. Why he didn't play last night is beyond me.

We can't rely on Oxford at centre half just yet but as a defensive mid he has the chance and time to adapt. If only we needed a def midfielder
