There’s only one man for the job...

....I never ever thought I’d say this but it’s time for Di Canio. The team has become too big for the manager. There are players there that simply don’t care, are on too much money and slowly winding down. The crowd has lost heart. I like many many stalwart supporters I know, find excuses not to go to games. If we’re all honest, the ground is shit. A ball ache to get in and out of, overpriced and a long way from a football stadium. The crowd aren’t behind Bilic because they know he’s gone either Saturday, the week after or at the end of the season. The players play like they feel the same too. Only PDC would have the fans rocking again. Only he could unite the ground and show the players what playing for us supporters is about. Only he would make them fit, cut out the drinking and bingeing that goes on with so called senior players. On,y he would have the balls to get rid of a so called senior player for a youth player, deserving of a chance. Let’s be honest if we stay as we are, the board will alienate many paying fans and likely get us relegated. Yes PDC can be crazy and is a big risk, but week by week we have less to lose. Get Rio to come in for the defensive side and give it a go. I know I’d be more interested. I know I’d have a bit mor motivation to be there.

We are in agreement...something has to be done and whilst PDC may not be great in the long term in the short term he would do everything you have mentioned in your post....the most important being reigniting the crowd and instilling belief in our club again.

Agree , in the current state Westham needs a massive shot in the arm, Di Canio is the man.Club is in a crisis, and it will continue that way unless the board take the bull by the horns and make some drastic decisions.Sure we know Di Canio can be a bit of a hot head ,but he is no dummy,he done good things with Swindon, the Sunderland job went pear shaped, but he would have learned big lessons from that,he has far better players to work with.As a fans favourite ,he would certainly get the backing,he knows the art of scoring ,he can definitely translate that onto the pitch.Like Betty says, bring in Ferdinand for the defence restructuring would be a great move , the two will have the know-how to get us out of this mess,at least see out the season safely. But for a true footballing tactician my choice would be Bielsa long term, another erratic character, but the board have had him on the radar before, and I'm sure he would be someone to consider seriously

Thing is there is no long or short term anymore. It’s the next 10 games that’s it. How do we get from where we are with these players to Xmas with a chance of getting safe?

so glad youve said that,i was thinking the same the other day about P.D.C,this is one man who could sort this team out,& the sight of him on the touchline & his passion would galvanise our crowd like no one else could!!I for one would be clambering for tickets for games if he was in charge...at the moment i just cant be arsed with going over there, have the board got the gonads to appoint him??or do we need to start a petition!!

There is a lot of truth in what you are saying Betty about p.d.c. Certainly will galvanise support. Rather than appoint him as manager would a Rio, pdc partnership be the answer on equal terms? Maybe Rio can take off that destructive edge away from di Canio? Trouble with having ex players as managers (bilic) can be they are given far more time/credit than they deserve for no other reason than they used to play for us. Fans have trouble being objective just because of what they did as a player, which has no relevance as a manager. For that reason both p.d.c and Rio would wield far too much power for this board! The good things that could come from him for me would be, he would call out the boards sh1tty behaviour and also stir the whole pot up around the club that's IMO needs to be done.

Well we'll certainly have a well drilled team from PDC,he was a proper fitness freak as we all know,he'll be digging out the shirkers that's for sure,i did hear when he was at slumberland some players didn't like how hard he pushed em to improve, lazy gits.

Hear betty, being as we know how temperamental PDC can be,just had a funny thought, he gets the job,we're losing 4- 0 v CI££Y and we get a couple of penalty decisions turned down,he goes crazy stops the match, calls all our players off the pitch, sits down arms folded, the ref comes over...pdc NO we not play anymore, all of a sudden the crowd starts singing his name Paolo di canio paolo di canio,he gets up he looks at the ref "nice, eh OK"and the players go back on and play like barca and we win 5-4 ring any bells ;)

No way would I want PDC within 100 miles of the managers office. We need to be hard to beat and I'd be happy to bring in a Allardyce or Pullis type until the end of the season .

I agree,i left at half time AGAIN yesterday, bad football,no atmospbere or passion. The ground does nothing for me,its the same for thousands of others, but would overcome that with a decent team display. An injection of life is needed and quick,di canio would bring this.
