time for a change?

bilic seems intent for whatever reason for us not to use the counter attack that we did last season. with this in mind and the current failings of our current setup. what suggestions would you make concerning formation and line up? personally i think we should sacrifice some width and put three in the middle and use payet as a play maker behind a front two. without carroll in the side its a bit pointless to get wide and whip in a cross anyway. payet could float around looking for space and also making runs into the box. my problem is the front two…we look weak there. but it would have to be Zaza and fletcher. so for me its a 4-3-1-2. Adrian, Arbeloa, Ogbonna, Reid, Byram - Noble, Obiang, Lanzini- Payet- Fletcher, Zaza. Will Bilic look for a change? doubt it.

I go along with that Dicksy, that formation is the best fit for our players.Sakho and Carroll up front together,Fletcher as cover.I agree with putting Payet behind the front pair,he's wasted out wide as is Lanzini, they both have an eye for goal and provide assists. The way the team is leaking goals at the moment I would definitely field holding midfielders in the team ,and give them strict orders not to wonder,to keep their position, even when the team attacks. The same applies to the full backs, not to go too far forward, their priority is to defend.Probably Nordveit,Kouyate and Noble in midfield and allow just one to push forward at a time, each ensuring there is cover provided.Oxford should start in central defence or in place of one of the midfielders

Adrian...Arbeloa, Ogbonna,Oxford/Reid,Cresswell...Nordveit,Kouyate/Obiang,Noble...Payet...Carroll,Sakho....No place for Lanzini for now,the team needs to work on their defensive play .

randy or Adrian in goal. Arbeloa rb, lb oggy, Reid and kouyate cb, obiang, Oxford dm, ant rm, Lanzini lm, noble cm, Payet in hole, zaza gets another chance.
I expect very little difference to bilics team yet again. Bet we don't see Oxford, obiang, fletcher, or moving kouyate to cb.

I'm sad to say that I'm already dreading going on Saturday as the football is so bad and the atmosphere is crap. Upton Park wasn't always lively but it was much better than this place. I no longer feel part of the day apart from when singing bubbles before the game, as expected the atmosphere is pocketed to different areas of the ground. In addition, some of the players are a waste of time, Nordvedt/Tore/Zaza Gabore/ and even Fergouli seems to run into players rather than beating them! The left back was looking our best player until WBA away, his game went after the stupid penalty, but now he is injured. Kayoute is over doing it running around with his head down and over running the ball, Reid isn't his normal self and out of position quite often and Adrian has never made me feel comfortable and seems to flap and lost a bit of confidence. All in all I will be there and will get behind them but I haven't felt like this since that fat twat was manager!

You're right Col, I am dreading taking little ed to the match on Saturday, I'm not sure if he even wants to go! Ed Jnr thinks he is our talisman because the only match he has been to was the bourenmouth win, so he might be little ed's sub.
Atmosphere is not good, as you would expect with such bad results, problem is the london scaffold stadium amplifies the negativity, especially if you sit anywhere near the away fans!
Adrian looks shell shocked and probably would have been replaced by Randolph until his 'voyage' with Carroll.
at least saturday is the last match at home for a while....

So far not one of the new signings has actually produced anywhere near a top class performance.
Zaza i suppose must have some qualities (being an International player) but all the reports I read from different sources seemed to indicate he wasnt that good, this is backed up by the fact Juventus saw him as surplus to requirement. My impressions to date see Nordvelt as no better than championship level at best and I cant understand why Bilic was so keen on Torre, can only presume he is no where near the level he previously achieved, he is not at premiership level. Ayew might be ok but way overpriced at 20 million and was never the first name on the teamsheet at Swansea, as for the rest basically just making up the numbers.
I really think we need to get Cresswell and Carroll back in the side and keep them fit and if Oxford is such a great prospect lets prove it and get him in the side (if your good enough age is not an issue). If we can resolve the issues surrounding Sakho lets get him back in the side he is very solid player who put in some good performances last season.
This would pretty much give us the same players as last season with the exception of Tompkins with Ayew still to come back and hopefully prove himself worth the investment, which in real terms means we wasted a lot of money for not a lot, I hope some of these signings prove me wrong and show us some real passion and desire which is sadly lacking at this time.
Bilic should lay it on the line with Zaza and tell him he needs some big games quickly or he goes back to Juve.

Think maybe 2 or 3 on the team sheet before Ayew but accept he was up there and a regular first team player.
Lets hope he continues to be regular first team player with West Ham when fit.
