1000 Moyes Per Ours!

When he first arrived at the London Bowl, David Moyes was there to ensure West Ham's Premier League survival which he did, he was rewarded by promptly being informed that his services wee no longer required as the board decided to have a bromance with a 'sexy' Chilean rather than the dour Scot, and we all know how that ended don't we?

Over £150 Million later and when the board came down from the exotic narcotics they MUST have been taking during Manuel Pellegrini's tenure, they were forced to go cap in hand to Moyes in order to ask him to rescue the club from relegation AGAIN! Moyes duly arrived and worked his magic again, only this time the club were in a even more perilous position than the first time when he was employed to take over from Slaven Billic.

It took a lot of humility from the board to go back to Moyes and it took equal humility from the 58 year old Scot to agree his return. He did however insist on certain clauses, all of which were unnecessary eventually, he sought reassurances about the length of his contract but also about player recruitment and the board's involvement with the media.

Fast forward a little over a year and a half and the 'Moyes' effect is everywhere around the club, happy smiling players, ecstatic supporters and a board that keeps it's mouth shut! Tonight Moyes takes charge of his 1000th game as a manager, what an achievement and it is rather fitting it should be for a West Ham side that he has completely rebuilt that is now playing in Europe.

Currently in the top four of the Premier League, nailed on favourites to top their Europa League group and into the quarter finals of the Moose Cup, what is even more admirable is that the club is in an upward trajectory as opposed to the slump many predicted for this season, it is rather amusing to hear those same doom sayers now lauding the club, it's manager, players and even it's fans.

What a turn around for 1000 Moyes per ours! - Ed

A great summary of Moyes's tenure to date and the humility that it took on both sides. Moyes has grabbed hold of this wayward and dysfunctional club by the scruff of the neck and has brought order and success.
It has been such a whirlwind that I still haven't gotten used to my West Ham nerves of old, where I wondered which West Ham would turn up on a Saturday (or any other day of the week now). But the most amazing thing of all apart from all of the promises that he made in his mission statement during his first few weeks back at the club, is that he has finally put the UNITED back into this club.
Lacking for so long, with such disharmony amongst supporters for reasons well known, he spoke about making the London Stadium feel like home. The capacity is now allowing many first time supporters to get the chance to see their team as well as supporters from abroad. This has welcomed with it new lifeblood in the form of supporters. Despite the London Stadium warts and all, nothing is ever perfect, the unity of the supporters is what makes this club so special... and it is all down to one man, take a bow David Moyes, soon to be a Legend ⚒️⚒️
