Ginge Was NOT Told He Was To Leave By E-Mail By West Ham

Contrary to earlier reports by the 'let's give West Ham a kicking' media with an agenda, James Collins was not told that his services were no longer required with a 'cold' e-mail, far from it. The e-mail in queston was sent as a matter of legal requirement from the club's H R department and was necessary in order to comply with various insurance policies in place, something that is in common with all Premier League clubs.

Far from 'getting rid' of 'The Ginger Pele', the club have put any further decision as to what happens with 34 year old James Collins off until the new manager is in place! It may well be that Collins does move on, but every avenue of retaining his services is being explored including a possible coaching role albeit on vastly reduced wages. Of course the incoming manager might well have their own opinions, but it isn't as if the club is overflowing with central defenders so perhaps a one year contract extension would be in order, if only as cover.

As that well known benevolent group of people, the Bookies, have ceased to accept any more bets with regards to the impending arrival of Manuel Pellegrini, it is safe to asume that the Chilean will be taking over from David Moyes. In the fullness of time the details will emerge as to exactly what went on behind the scenes between Moyes and particularly David Sullivan, it appears that Moyes misjudged the water and assumed, incorrectly as it transpires, that he had done enough to warrant a new contract, however it seems that the demands made by Moyes were too much for Sullivan. The strength of Moyes' hand in the discussions was based on the assumption that Sullivan shared co-owner David Gold's desire to retain the 54 year old Scot, when he realised that the co-owners were not seeing eye to eye about a new contract he realised his time was up, hence the recent derogatory comments attributed to Moyes made on social media.

Ironically the first thing Manuel Pellegrini will do after signing his purported three year contract will be to go on holiday for a couple of weeks! - Ed

what worries me is if moyes demands were too great, how do we end up with pellegrini? surely his demands would be far greater? unless pellegrini has reached a point where as long as his wages are met he doesnt care about investment into the team as he will be gone when it goes pear shaped?

Pellegrini's salary will be higher than Moyes' for a start. Are his demands going to be less? I doubt it. This is what makes me think Sully intended Fonseca to get the job. D'OH!!!! It also worries me if Pellegrini is going on vacation -- the first thing he should do is secure the permanent transfer of Joao Mario, whose value is NOT going down at the world cup. Then he should get in a holding midfielder like Carvalho or Dendonker before going on vacation. At least that much.

I guess there was just no faith in Moyes that he will attract top players and the board would worry about losing / wasting money. The last point you make could hold water, this for sure is Pellegrini's swan song!

This is mainly supposition or rumour but, I've heard pelegrini is not worried about his wage as he feels he is already wealthy enough and will take a big reduction to come. On demands, maybe he demands the same as Moyes and yet Sullivan feels he would rather give them to a bigger manager than Moyes. As for going on holiday, anyone here of the phone? He can make decisions on players to keep or leave either before he goes or after. I heard he has been swatting up on us from videos already. Like I say rumours and supposition. I'm sure he already knows most of our players. My biggest worry is his lack of English. Can you imagine him saying he wants ronaldo yet Sullivan hears snodgrass.

if he was the sort that wasnt in it for the money, I'm afraid he would not have been in China.

But after the usual balls-up, Sullivan found himself once again backed into a corner.

True dicks, but maybe working in China is the reason why he doesn't any longer? Maybe we are getting a take over and we want the new man in before its signed?

"If I had been born in Seattle, I could have been Jimi Hendrix!" ( I once said that to an insurance agent that said "if we were any other company we would not be listening")

Well -- he's going to get £10M a year at West Ham. WHOAH! Only Pep and Jose earn more. Guess that means we'll be third next season. Either that or David Moyes will be laughing up his sleeve at Sullivan's prodigality.
