Haller And Yedder (again) Next Up On Hammers Striker Wishlist

Despite appearing to have put all their eggs in one basket in their failed pursuit of Celta Vigo's Maxi Gomez, it is inconceivable that Manuel Pellegrini and Mario Husillos do not have a plan (b), a plan (c) or even a plan (z) ! The most recent, and most intriguing name being linked with the Hammers recruitment team is Eintracht Frankfurt's Sebastian Haller, the 25 year old French striker just enjoyed a prolific season in the Bundesliga, scoring on average a goal every other game.

Sebastien Haller is not a cheap alternative, he will cost around £40 Million which Hammers can pay, albeit in instalments! Personal terms shouldn't be much of an issue, however the player will need convincing that a move to the London Stadium will be in his long term interest. Haller's 6'3" frame is ideally suited to the rigours of the Barclays Premier League, his acquisition would go a long way to compensating for the failure to sign Maxi Gomez, indeed many fans see Haller as a better option than Gomez.

Three years after rejecting the chance to sign Ben Yedder Hammers are rumoured to be interested to run the rule over the player again, in the summer of 2016, West Ham made Ben Yedder a target, but both David Sullivan and Slaven Bilic had doubts about his physicality. Given that he is just 5' 7" tall, Yedder was deemed too small, so Instead West Ham decided to sign Simone Zaza, who failed to score a single goal during his time in England.

Since moving from Toulouse to Sevilla, Yedder has excelled in Spain and has just completed an excellent campaign during which he scored 30 goals in all competitions for the La Liga club, taking his total tally to 70 goals in 138 games across three years for Sevilla. The France international is an undoubted goal threat despite his physical limitations, having scored 71 in 174 from Toulouse prior to his move to Spain. The other factor that puts this possible transfer on the back burner is that Yedder is 28 years old, not exactly in keeping with the club's 'buy young' remit.

West Ham United's most successful top flight finish was achieved using two 'light weights' up top, but then again they were Tony Cottee and Frank Mc Avennie, and also the game was played in entirely different circumstances back in the day. Given Pellegrini's propensity of using just one striker, a player of Haller's physical prowess will surely be his preferred option. - Ed

Its the sort of thing you'd expect from a shrewd buisnessman, no doubt theres some financial gain to be made of it in the long run. Look at it this way - he may have a deal in place where we can cherry pick some of boltons top talent!

All they are doing is biding there time until they can sell up i think in 2021 without having to make a payout to the legacy group or some such entity...do enough to keep us in the prem then sell us as an all singing and dancing club with world class stadium(lol)with world class facilities(lol)in the heart of LONDON etc etc

After reading Mac then you 65,my answer was coming, but you answered it for me 65 in your last post,i think that could be the case, putting jack at the helm,to play with the club as a toy, scary isnt the word,we are talking HAMMER HOUSE OF HORRORS,i know the pun was there,it had to be taken lol, lets hope this never happens, for us to go to the next level, would be for them to move on totaly, the sad part about it is the next lot of owners would be foreign, not knowing any East London ethics and traditions

Ain't ever coming back, the saddest thing for me as a proud westham supporter born & bred we went so quietly..

It's a bit like when a neighbour knocks down an adjoining wall, thinking its theirs.fair enough you wait for the outcome,do they continue doing it their way or respectfully ask you your opinion...I think we all know where that situation would lead

I know mate, trouble is im proper old school, and whatever we think of them,at least they have a connection with the club, thats what im trying to say,if sheik kebab comes along that is that, but that is the way it is now,the money involved in football is crazy, thats why it takes oil rich wollas or mr cow meins to keep this already out of control clubs afloat, ambulance drivers deserve more than these players,

just WHAT is the connection?? I have as much connection with the club as they do...I was born and raised in London (59 years ago) and still live in London (Dagenham). I’ve been a Hammers fan since I was a boy. I knew right from the start that once they got their grubby hands on the club that it was only going to go one way.

More connection than them bobby, don't worry about that mate

Everything they have done is to the detriment of the club. We all know we should never have moved, but we did and it will take serious cash injection from overseas to make amends...maybe another move to a brand new 'oiled up' stadium near a train station...any ideas?
Their deals all seem to be dodgy under the table schemes and people are now wise to them. So disappointing to see so many years of history just torn to shreds and blocks of flats built upon it. A sign of nothing but disrespect to a club with such a rich vein of culture and passion running through it. Sadly that won't just grow back. It's going to take decades and who knows what will happen once the die hards are all 6 feet under.
They have been awful custodians of one of London's most treasured sporting jewels.
Roll on the day when they up sticks and f**k off to whence they came.

Sully's connection with the club is laughable his dream was to be captain of cardiff and wales and has a teen he was moved on outside upton park for selling other clubs football programmes, gold's dream was to take over west ham you know the 442 green street boy steeped in our famous history,he get's that dream and then sells it all down the river, and has dave mention seems all done over night, you would have thought we already had foreign owners not so-called hammer fans.

What about the legacy they talked about?poncey new flats that the local people cant afford, the local businesses that thrived on match day were they spared a thought.if they had redeveloped the ground like the spuds you wouldn't have the division.this new ground suited their poncey lifestyles that's the only reason they moved us
Rant over im off to watch the cricket come on England!!

I get it if people still want to go to this new stadium, but everyone of them deep down wishes it had never happened.a massive part of me died that day they knocked the boleyn down, yeah I've read the replys 'sentimental tosh'...but what if you took your family from small children to a place they adored, felt safe & part of a family to then have it taken away by people who promised the earth & have delivered nothing in the name of greed...rant over!!;)

As you know, I am the exception to the rule :o)

i really loved the UP, it was home but... I still like, and starting to love, the LS on so many levels. I still believe that WH will one day own the stadium and will be converted to a proper Footie ground. I could be deluded or the reverse sentimentalist :o)

i do feel the pain and the points about safe and family are spot on. You are clearly a decent bloke and I genuinely hope that you will embrace just a bit of the LS.

Im back to the party.... Birthday... Im bl--dy 60 today :o(
