Is Hammers Paradoxical Transfer Aproach Part Of A Cunning Plan?

For a team in desperate need of at least one or probably two strikers given the frail state of health of both of Andy Carroll and Diafro Sakho, West Ham United's recruitment policy seems to be at a cross roads. Having acquired the services of ex- Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleto, the potential arrival of his former goal keeping colleague Joe Hart seems to indicate a shift in the emphasis in how things are going. Ironically building from the back is a Sam Allardyce principal but one which Slaven Billic appears to have embraced. With Fletcher, Quinna and Martinez waiting in the wings maybe now is the time for the club to go 'home grown'. After all what is the point of having an academy if you don't utilise the players they provide? Perhaps all the recent 'twatter crap' about the lack of opportunity of a youth team player making the jump in to the first team as being next to nothing is just part of a cunning plan, youth could be the only way forward! - Ed

If we go that way and the kids can't score, we've got no plan "C"unning.

i know this is being debated in detail but for me the fundamental problem with our transfers is 1. we don't plan properly. 2. we aren't able to get deals done. Now, whatever you think of the board and the 'great' things they have done for the club, the fact is we aren't getting the calibre of player in that this club needs in order to push up the table. if we are to be serious 'europa' league place contenders as is surely the remit now with the 66,000 stadium then we need to be signing the likes of hernandez AND Iheanancho/Giroud etc. Joe Hart is a good start but every striker we've been linked with has either stalled or been ruled out. People say well players don't want to join us, we're not an attractive proposition….why? why aren't we? our move and location has propelled us above the likes of southampton, stoke, Wba, Newcastle and a couple of others imo. we 'should' be the club just out of the top 6 now…where everton used to be but seem to have pushed on from. in fact imo we should be vying with Everton in terms of ambition and stature but we seem to have been left in their wake.

like to see them get in Hernandez next AND Arnautovic, and still not be done.

I know Super Slav was going in for a hip hop operation, but I find it strange we have not seen or heard from him in weeks...?
