Hernandez Marko's Home Is Where The Hart Is!

The impending arrival of Javier Hernandez because West Ham are willing to trigger the £13m escape clause for the 29 year old Mexico international goal machine, will swiftly follow the one year loan deal for Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart and the club agreeing to pay Stoke £24 million for attacking winger Marko Arnautovic. Hernandez joined Bayer Leverkusen from Manchester United in 2015 and has since scored 28 goals in 45 League games. He also became Mexico’s all time leading scorer after collecting his 47th goal from 95 internationals in a match against Croatia in May.
Slaven Bilic has been anxious to add pace and strike power to his squad, something Hernandez and Austria international Arnautovic can most definitely provide. The price for Arnautovic is a record for West Ham United to pay, some might think he is over priced, but compared to Snodgrass at £10 Million he looks like a bargain, such is the extent of the crazy transfer market! Hernandez's wages of around £140,000 per week could also be described as excessive, but those costs are somewhat offset due to the relatively low purchase price.
Joe Hart has joined up with the rest of the West Ham squad in Austria on Tuesday night, the club seeming to be the only route that he has back in to the Premier League. His arrival will mean "goodbyeski" for one or both of West Ham’s goalkeeping pair, Spaniard Adrian or Republic of Ireland international Darren Randolph. The former who particularly was gnarled by co-owner David Sullivan's comment that Joe Hart was the best goal keeper he had ever worked with, the latter knowing the writing is on the wall in the run up to the World Cup. The exact details of the Hart deal are vague, but you can betway your house that there IS an option to retain him on a permanent basis should things work out well.
Hart himself has said he is delighted to be back in England, “It’s important for me to play football and to get the opportunity to come here and play is absolutely awesome, to be playing in the Premier League for a big club like West Ham, I’m really looking forward to the season.” Unfortunately he then blotted his copy book by saying he had always loved West Ham and it's supporters, blah blah footballer's blah!
Anyway, the board seem to have responded in the best possible way to the criticism they faced following last year's transfer debacle buy putting there money where their mouths are, in addition there are tantalising further top quality players who may really actually arrive at the London Stadium. However some of the drift wood will have to be let go with Scottish International Robert Snodgrass top of the list, Pablo Zabaleta, not known for a forgiving demeanor when it comes to player's effort or lack of it, was noticeably aggrieved at 'Snoddy's' contribution during the friendly against Sturm Graz II. Snodgrass was a panic that just didn't work out, the club should just cut it's losses and get rid, but who would want to pay his wages? - Ed

Snodgrass looked a good player at Hull. But was always blowing out his arse whenever I saw him for us last season. I think Super Slav soon got wise and started leaving him out. I can only reckon our fitness regime and tempo of play was higher and better than that of Hull City. Zabaletta is a huge asset for us and I predict a firm fans favourite very soon. Gives his all, we don't want much more than that. Arnautavic looks the part a big unit with plenty of skill, again when he can be bothered!! I'm wondering where Andre Ayew fits in to all this?? Hernandez or chicorito (give me strength) should be another Tony Cottee the like we've not seen for years!!!

Bang on boogers ,Snoddy was a big fish in a small pond ,Zabs could turn out to be one of our best signings ,i think Hernandez is more like Zarate when he was here ,i really liked him

I think there will be serious competition for places, like you say boogers, arnautavic has undoubtedly got a lot of talent lets just hope hes up for it.Him up front(or on the wing) with hernandez, lanzini in the pocket behind-that is some forward line...
Antonio,masuaku/cresswell on the left, obiang & kouyate in the engine room (nobes may be lucky to get a game!)zab at right back,& winnie at the back with either fonte or the ogg!!Hart in goal, its looking good!!

Will be great if we manage to sign both Arnautovic and Hernandez. Both talented players that could link up very well with the Lanzini, Zabelata and Masuaku. With the likes of Antonio, Obiang and Kouyate in the squad, it finally looks like a team that has a bit more direction this season. Throw in two defenders like Reid, and Ogbonna along with a keeper with a choice of Hart or Adrian, this would be a squad that can get us somewhere this season. Fingers crossed.

The most bizarre thing that I noticed are the fixtures. No home games in the first 3 matches. Am I missing something? Is the stadium under renovation in August?

Taking place at the stadium till august 13th,then the arena needs 2 weeks to be transformed back to a football stadium,so hence the first 3 games are away...not an ideal situation but hopefully at least we will have a stronger squad!!

Arnie has a bit of class about him. He he applies himself right and keeps his nose clean I got a hunch he is the one the fans will take too. Altho Hernandez will probably win fans over if he scores a few, plays ok and often.

Read several things that said a £27M fee has already been agreed for this Lazio striker who scored 16 last season (in about 30 appearances). Early 20s, if I recall. Is there any truth to the rumours?

While I have read some posts on varied social media whereby some Hammers have been less than impressed with the signing of Arnautovic it is apparent while some will wait with baited breath for him to fail the majority will get behind him and surely playing in a full London Stadium will influence some good displays. He wanted to leave Stoke due to Stokes lack of ambition and our board showed ambition by moving stadiums . Stoke seem content with mid table and "Arnie" did not impress me when we played the "Potters" at the Bet365 stadium last year in an end of season bore draw but by then both sides were safe. Snippets on MOTD though throughout the season have shown "Arnie" can get into some excellent positions and score goals, I for one hope he hits the ground running and continues that way. Ashes I too have read the Balde Diao story confirming fee agreed but he wants to stay in Italy so we will have to wait and see.

If we do land these next three big signings I will happily eat my words BUT, still a pessimist, we only have secured to date a free transfer and and a loan deal. Bayer Leverkusen are hanging out for more money with The Little Pea, Bayer are famous for inventing the Aspirin, well they could be a real headache for us!

looks like Sully has implicitly quashed the rumours, or maybe we are counting on getting two of three targets and the other is a bargaining chip. Either way we should get these deals done now.
