Michail Antonio Joins The Billic Revolution

Many Hammers fans were voicing their discontent at the club's lack of ambition in the transfer market, but the two Davids and madam K have done the business, so a fair amount of humble pie should be on the menu tonight! Alex song, Carl Jenkinson and Victor moses are all only loanees, but Michail Antonio is a full on four year signing and will bring pace and power to Billic's side. Some may be underwhelmed by the addition of Jelavic from Hull as a striker option, but realistically he has been signed on a two year deal as back up to the much injured Andy Carroll. There is also still a chance Adebayour might arrive, although that would depend on him having his contract terminated by Tottenham, if that was the case there would be no need to tie up the deal during this transfer window as the player would have become a free agent. Do west ham fans want Adebayour? - Ed

I think weve done great business today,i didnt think we would so i hold my hands up for a slice of that pie!!Antonio is a real prospect-happy with that one, jelavic is good cover & bilic knows him well, moses is a top player on his day,& also hopefully song can regain the form he showed early last season...A Happy hammer here!!P.s we dont need adebayour now...

Ed isn't Lanzini a loan too? Pleased with the new boys main thing it gives us is flexibility and depth. Only really short at right back now maybe Tonka will nail that down if jenks fails

you know what excites me most about this squad, Mooro? We now have 3 or 4 players that WANT to run at defenders and take them on, sometimes it won't work, but sometimes it WILL! We haven't had that for ages.

looks like a good days business. However, anyone know why Reading and Sheffield Wednesday let him (Antonio) go so cheap?

I'd have a guess that he has come on a lot at Forest, but even he admits he is still a bit raw and still working on the skill aspects of the game. As one Forest fan said: " His first touch can be brilliant or rubbish, flip a coin..." But all admit, he WILL score goals.

Certainly one would have to be the most miserable glass half-empty SUGO hater to slag them off after today! I was most concerned that we had not replaced Downing, and now we have TWO replacements! Jelavic is the Carlton/Maiga replacement, and not likely to get many starts. Antonio is obviously a bit of a punt, and not a cheap one at that, but if he makes the transition to the PL he'll seem like a bargain! Happy Hammer here!!!!!!!!!! I reckon we've been stringing Adebayor along all the time, just to p1ss off that Lucifer Levy! :-)

Randolph, Obiang, Payet, Hendrie, Samuelsen, Lanzini, Ogbonna, Jenkinson, Song, Moses, Antonio, Jelavic what's that about £30 million spent and man utd spent £36 million, potentially rising to £58 million for a player who scored the amount as Maiga last season mind-boggling stuff

Matt Jarvis could still go in the next hour or so. Apparently we have a deal to let a player (unamed) go with the FA (Jack Sullivan just tweeted it) and have until 8pm to conclude the deal. With Forest I reckon but could be wrong?

Sincerely I had never heard of Antonio, but from the videos and reading the stats looks good. Moses may also to be interesting, he can play on the wing and and as a second striker. Song we all know that if he plays as he knows, is class. I'm not convinced of Jelavic Bilic knows him well and knows maybe bring out the best out of him, we will see

I think now you have to go back to the Payet, Obiang, Lanzini signings and consider them together with Moses, Jelavic, Antonio. This seems like a very good window for us, especially adding to our Kouyate, Sakho, Valencia deals last season. We are starting to look like a club with depth and versatility, which we will need in the second half of the season. If my gut feeling is correct -- namely that Slaven's influence won't fully be seen until after Christmas -- we could be in for a pretty good season. Well done SUGO. Now I hate to be bitter, but with Nolan, Downing and Jarvis gone, we start to look less like an Allardici side and more like a professional outfit. ROLL ON WEST HAM UNITED!

With the players coming in and the return of Carroll, Amalfitano, and Velencia were looking very good,
and to top of a great day off Tottenham get shafted Happy days.

I would say Westham have had the most successful transfer window of all the premiership clubs. These are not bit part players ,all these players can be used in a team formation for the first team without any real concerns.I never expected anything like this , have to congratulate the board for such deals.Bilic has got plenty to work with now,and I am confident of a top six finish if players like Song can get back playing like he did last season.

Burkie 1

Bullyhammer's picture

It already does, Burkie! I think I said on an earlier post that we might concede more goals this season, but we would also score more; makes a change for me to be right! LOL
AND to go away to Arsenal and Liverpool and win 5-0... Never been done in the same season by West Ham, not by Greenwood, not by Lyall, and not by Allardyce, not even in alternate bleedin universe!! :-))

That's right. Sam played with a couple of big CF's and defended with the rest behind the ball. The opposition were caught out as the defence kept hitting it over the top and they banged a couple in. Unfortunately Sam felt these tactics were perfect and decided to keep them for the next 6billion years!!!

Ah yeah I forgot that, Burkie. That's the same planet where I look like George Clooney's better looking brother, where Daniel Levy is my septic tank cleaner (by tongue), and where West Ham are on a run of 120 cup & league doubles! :-)

We're still managed by the modest Allardyce though right? And Levy, his sense of smell is superb right. I mean after a career down at Shite (no heart) drain, he can smell shit a mile off?

Just goes to prove again that those running the club dont want to spend money!!!!

Another couple of cheap loanees and everybody is fooled again!!

Pathetic.

I've been reading your posts and replies on here and can no longer tell whether you are being sarcastic or not - but whatever your intention, I personally think the owners aren't perfect with their media interactions but they have done us well with the signings and direction they are taking the club
