West Ham United's Carabao, or Moose Cup as it is also known, quarter final away to Tottingham will be played on Wednesday the 22nd of December, kicking off at 7.45pm. Hammers have NEVER won the competition in any of it's guises, they have reached the final and lost, but that was when the final was replayed if it was a draw*.

Most recently the club did reach the competition's last four during the 2013/14 campaign, unfortunately that tie ultimately ended in a 9-0 aggregate loss to Manchester City! Which is why that particular year's participation has been almost entirely expunged from West Ham fans' memories.

David Moyes' B team secured their place in the quarter finals by completing a Moss side double, defeating United 1-0 in the third round with a Manuel Lanzini goal at Old Trafford, before beating City on penalties at the London Bowl last week. The game will be televised by Sky, who will undoubtedly use Alan Smith as one of the match commentators, despite the fact that his voice is universally despised by fans right across the board.
Other media platforms throughout Europe and beyond will also be broadcasting the fixture which has garnered more global interest as the competition progresses, especially since the perennial holders Man City were dumped out by West Ham. The fixture of course is scheduled for nine days BEFORE the transfer window opens, so neither manager will be able to 'dip in to the market' ahead of the game.

It will be Tottingham's Cup final, so expect a fired up Harry Kane urged on from the touch line by an animated C**t* in full flight! Or possibly a fired Conte and a Kane in full flight, AWAY!-Ed

*Many thanks to the 'dementia hunter' that is Hammer Girl for pointing out the previous errror.

But i of course being but a twinkle in my fathers eye at the time i have been told that we drew a league cup final and lost a replay with a certain Mr Goddard scored an own goal after we had gone 1-0 up in the replay and it was the bindippers who beat us grrrr.

Of course i leave ot to the OLDER generation to correct me if i have been told wrongly:-)

Older generation here.......through the foggy mists of too many pints and bottles of wine through the decades memory says Goddard scored the opener for us, Bonzo stuck out a leg and deflected in the equaliser. Great team that stormed Div2 and produced some great performances over the next few seasons COYI
