A rather bemused and recalcitrant Mario Husillos left Spanish journalists extremely confused when asked about West Ham United's continued transfer activity and the club's apparent relentless desire to empty their pockets ahead of the August the 9th 17.00pm deadline. He replied, when asked about dealing with the deadline finishing three weeks ahead in the UK as opposed to that in Europe, "Manicomio y Tonterias" which essentially translates to "It's a madhouse and a crazy thing". It is pretty much inevitable given the club's recent outstanding recruitment of players that almost every player with a pulse is being linked with a move to London E20, there are so many 'potential' signings that we thought we would leave them to the Daily **** ***** to cover, however the latest story regarding Arsenal striker Lucas Perez has some legs on it.

Unai Emery has apparently run the rule over Perez and is ready to let the experienced forward depart for a bargain basement £5 million, Sporting CP are also in for Perez, but according to various sources the player would much prefer to remain in the Premier League ahead of the upcoming season.

West Ham are still believed to be keen on adding another striker before the window closes, or slams shut! as the red tops love to print, on Thursday, and it seems the 'Huse' has turned his attention towards Perez. His £17 Million move from Deportivo in the summer of 2017 turned out to be a complete disaster, Perez failed for various reasons to make an impression at Arsenal and the Spaniard would welcome a move a couple of miles across the City to the London Stadium in the coming days rather than joining a european mainland club.

All the massive optimism surrounding West Ham may well come down with a bump after Sunday's Premier League match against Liverpool at Anfield, a match that previous generations of Hammers supporters wrote off as a matter of course, Slaven Billic for all his faults managed to do the unthinkable in his halcyon season, the last at the much beloved Boleyn Ground, and get his team to beat them on their own patch. The Liverpool team that will line up against Manuel Pellegrini's West Ham is full of World Class players and even a hard fought draw or a narrow loss will be seen as an acceptable result, but there will be a lot of Hammers fans who want to dare to dream, and why not?

The squad El Pel has assembled could go on to do great things, but equally like in 'Bubbles' they could fade and die, but for some blind faith reason there are a lot of fans and their kids who are happy to wear their shirts in public again. - Ed

Perez nowhere near as good. A healthy Antonio is like having a bull that has just burst out of the gates.
