Paolo Di Canio will grace the Boleyn Ground once again after confirming his participation at Mark Noble’s forthcoming testimonial, maverick Di Canio scored 52 goals in 141 appearances for West Ham between 1999 and 2003, and is the latest name to be confirmed for the match to acknowledge Noble’s service to the club.
"When I was coming up through the Academy", Noble told WHUFC.COM "Paolo was the man we all looked up to - he was a genius with the ball, and such a character on and off the pitch. “If you'd told me then that he'd be coming back one day to play in my Testimonial match, I'd never have believed it."I'm so proud and grateful that Paolo will be there, with all the other Hammers lads. It is such an honour to share my big day with them on Easter Monday, and especially so to be doing it at the Boleyn Ground, in our final season here." Others set to feature in Noble’s testimonial are: Rio Ferdinand, Anton Ferdinand, Matthew Etherington, Carlton Cole, Craig Bellamy, Scott Parker, Stewart Downing, Danny Gabbidon, Bobby Zamora, Dean Ashton, Yossi Benayoun, Trevor Sinclair, Ian Bishop, Julian Dicks and Ludek Miklosko.Procedes from the match, scheduled for Easter Monday, will go to charities Richard House Children's Hospice, Help for Heroes and the DT38 Foundation.
