Suddenly Renewing Your Season Ticket Wasn't Such A Bad Idea

Many West Ham fans were dubious about renewing their season tickets following the debacle of last season, everything that could go wrong did and a few more things that shouldn't have did! Rubbish performances, dodgy stadium and a seemingly inept greedy board. Fast forward to now and you could be in a paralell universe, the much maligned board, particularly majority share holder David Sullivan, have taken a back seat when it comes to recruitment and left the business to professionals, moreover they have to the most part managed to keep themselves out of the media ahead of what have been some spectacular signings, of course Mr Sullivan had to blot his copybook, much to the annoyance of the 'Huse', by going main stream to say further signings were on their way just as the Felipe Anderson saga is about to reach a positive conclusion.

Whether by fan protest, survival instinct, just good business sense or maybe even a genuine love for the club, the pantomine villains that are the club's hierarchy are finally beginning to make good the promises made to fans ahead of moving from the much beloved Boleyn Ground to the much hated London Stadium, finally the club are trying to do things the right way and not on the cheap as they have perpetually done in the past. We have tried to cover this issue before by covering the 'pay day loan' issue the club had to cope with, but as we have mentioned, this season the gloves are off to a certain extent.

taking us from a football stadium to that dump is unforgivable and I only go to away games when I can nowadays...never will set one foot inside that white elephant of a ground...as for the rest its about bloody time.

The stadiums fine. Not perfect, but refusing to set foot in the ground is silly imo, like it or not gonna be our home for the next 97 years so people are gonna have to start dealing with it

What about the walk from the station to the ground??surely you cant deny that it is terrible compared with the buzz & sights & smells of Green st at UP??its soul-less mate,a concrete abyss with nothing there & then you get to the vendors outside the ground who have absolutely no connection to the club at all its like going to a music festival!!The only shining light imo is the Carpenters Arms pub packed on a match day, though it is in the only area (as yet!!) that hasnt been touched by the developers!!If your happy with it thats fine but do us a favour we dont have to deal with it at all!!

You are right, but the surroundong area is brilliant in the summer, and there are really good barbeques before you get to the 'moat' surrounding the stadium. Good place for a BYO beer and meet up without destroying your bank balance.

You know that wasn't what I meant, after all I couldn't afford the Hackney Wick Hipsters beer, cost a fortune taste like shit! Bung some tinnies in the freezer before leaving, freeze them just enough so that they are perfect when you arrive after the 'marathon' to the stadium.

I love your posts mate, I know we both love West Ham and differ on the LS etc. I left East London many years ago (Forest Gate) but even then I thought the UP area was in need of assistance. Stratford and the Hackney hipsters suits me fine. Do you still live in the area?

You cant just change clubs & loyalty & family traditions over night!!yes great recruitment ive said so in other posts,(ive even given the dildos some credit) & its all looking really positive..but its all about opinions,if we all agreed about the stadium it would be bloody boring on here!!

Is my personal choice Fred and if you are happy to go fine but rmbr it is not as had been advertised by our wonderful owners...and as for the long walk goes you are welcome to it....plus I cannot afford the Binoculars to watch the game from the stands!

I second that its about bloody time they started to deliver on their promises, but that stadium is a joke,i will gladly go to away games with the wonderfull westham away support but as for a season ticket at that place, ive had ample chances to get one in the last couple of weeks, but they can poke it as far as im concerned!!

At that stadium in three different seats, including one game in the 66 seats. So glad I never renewed my season ticket from the last season at the Boleyn. The ground/ view is nothing like the bullshit I was given at the glorified presentation in Stratford. It will have to be something extraordinarily special to make me go back. I'm with MC on this. Stick to the away games if I can get a ticket. I will say one good thing about Stratford. It's got nice bogs.

Been in trendy Normandy, Deauxville with the French hipsters playing golf so away from The Org. Seriously though mate ... Do you still live in the area or ever lived in Upton Park? My parents installed in me and sibs to improve our lot and move on, some in Kent, Bucks, Berks, Yorks etc but all still Hammers to the core!

so what you are saying 65 is that for all the nostalgia of E13 you never (like me) lived there? I would suggest that given the choice trendy Stratford would have more appeal?

I was born in Leyton & then moved to leytonstone so stratford was just round the corner for me as a kid though i dont remember it being quite so trendy in those days!!My family were all westham, went to my first game in 1969 as a 4 year old & the rest is history.
