What Does It Take To Start Benrahma?

Tomas Soucek, along with several of his team mates, is suffering from the exertions of having to cover for missing players, and the 'high energy team' that blew teams away has lost it's energy co-efficient from the level it had attained.

Said Benrahma has played so few minutes compared to the other players, when Jesse Lingard arrived his 'pent up energy' exploded because David Moyes unleashed Lingard's inner player, so why doesn't the vastly experienced West Ham manager utilise such an asset that he has at his disposal when his team is down to the bare bones?

Making unforced errors was the original reason for Benrahma's absence, but having seen last week's error strewn performance, perhaps David Moyes might want to reconsider. Moyes is known for his 'my way or the highway' stance when it comes to players' integration in to the team, however in the current circumstances he surely must use Benrahma more.

Injuries and suspensions have ripped the heart out of the team, people might say that back in the day teams got through the whole season with very few players, they forget to say, but with an awful lot of courtesone. The team have done incredibly well to have got so far, but it really is a time for all hands to the pumps now.

Moyes generally knows best, but sometimes proving a point can become somewhat of a Pyrrhic victory! . Ed

The question I'm asking now is. Was he a Moyes signing? Or was he a product of Lady Buttplug and the Dildo twonks?

Personally I think Benny is the real deal. But his decision making is atrocious. This could be because he's desperately searching for his first goal. Either way he has to start now and should have before in my opinion. I feel he and Jesse could be an awesome if not diminutive pairing!!

Oi big boy, what's your name?

Lingard, benny & bowen if fit play them all, agree Benny's finishing is atrocious but again trying too hard imo...apart from goals his link up play is great, bit lightweight at times but he needs more game time to improve

Now when was the last time West Ham had two dimunitive attackers in the team? Oh, it was back in 1985 and what position did the club finish in?

Loves Forcandles and his work rate closing opposition down tracking back etc....Benny not really given a chance and probably wont be while our defence is leaking goals the way they are but with the injuries we have got he probably will be forced to play him i just hope given the chance Benny doesn't over play to try and prove his worth keep it simple choose your moment and then show your undoubted talent.

Still need to give Benny some more playing time to get him firing on all cylinders. He can carry the ball forward but then loses the cutting edge when trying to make that crucial decision. Not sure if it is due to him coming on as a sub in the last few minutes when it normally seems like West Ham are desperately either trying to defend a lead or as against Newcastle actually trying to level the playing field. He then seems to be under pressure that affects his free flowing movements. Yes, I agree that he needs to start and develop in the game in a more attacking role, along with Lindegard and Bowen. West Ham then needs five very sound defenders to fill in the void left by injuries to Cresswell, Rice, Masuaku as well as the banned Dawson. Balbuena can fill in for Dawson, and Noble sort of for Rice, although Coventry should also be a consideration. I think that Diop should move more to the left to fill in for Cresswell's role, and to prop up Johnson when he plays up front in a more attacking role.

Round peg and square holes, playing players in wrong positions, wrong formations or wrong tactics. Like Haller and Chico, classic examples, even playing Johnson on the wrong side of the pitch, Benrahma is not being allowed to play his natural game. I saw Benrahma regularly at Brentford and whilst he had his flaws there, notably not being too aware of where teammates are when off on one of his runs, he needs players around him who are quick of mind and feet and to be honest, we ain't got too many of them at West Ham. Lanzini being probably the best one and maybe Masuaku. At Brentford he had Watkins and Mbeumo regularly. At West Ham, Fornals, Bowen, Noble aren't anywhere near quick thinking enough and to top it all we haven't got a recognised striker for him to play to. I know where I'm pointing the finger of blame at and good to know that the author of this post recognises that it's Moyes way or no way. A good manager would be more flexible.
