The Arsenal game

How do we approach this game? Do we go looking for a point, Allardyce's normal tactics away from home, especially against top 4 sides? Or do we try to take it to 'em? In my opinion Arsenal with be looking at this game as a home banker, we have little to lose by having a go at them, by being aggressive, by forcing them to play the way we want, rather than setting up to counter their strengths, that pretty much never works. I think Sam has 10 games to save his job, to get another contract, he won't do it by being defensive. A win at the Emirates could kick start our final quarter of the season, and see us back up to 8th place+, but we wont do it by pussy footing around.

After watching them play the other night against Man u all we can do is defend as well as we can until they score the first goal........And then we score 2 in the last five minutes to beat them!!! simple.

Seriously bullyhammer I agree with you we can't just pussy foot around them and maybe we should have a go. But if there is one team in the Premiership that can murder you on the break that is Arsenal. So I reckon if the Bus has passed it's MOT it will be used.

Will Song come back in or will Sam stick with Nolan? I am guessing we will play 451 with Sakho up top and Valencia & Downing on the wings. I would pitch Song straight back in, he'll be up for this game big time....COYI !!

if we pussy foot around showing them too much respect they will walk all over us. As with all the top teams they don't
like it when the opposition gets in their face. Pressure , pressure pressure and they will wilt.

Well i'd like to see us to take it to em and put on a show why not, after all our players should be fit and fresh shouldn't they, that was the whole point of the break, don't let them have their own way be first to the ball and stop there rhythm of play don't sit back but be ready for the counter.sak and val can cause them problems as we know but please make them chances stick boys! COYI do us PROUD! PLEASE!!!!

Play two up front and have a go. You can't go there and expect to defend for ninety minutes, sooner or later they will open us up. Nothing to lose I say.

I would just like to see the same line up Westham played against Liverpool at home. Not a diamond formation, but just use Downing playing behind the front two of Sakho and Valencia, not stuck out on the wing where he fades in games.Kouyate ,Song and Noble in midfield, holding and attacking when appropriate.Like Song stated in the media ,playing Arsenal at the Emirates will be difficult ,but its a game that needs to be approached the same way Monaco played them. That is primarily containing them ,and using counter-attack football ,and Westham certainly have the pace in the side to punish Arsenal.

Apparently out for 4-6 weeks but not yet confirmed by West Ham. It isn't looking good for the weekend I'm a firm believer in having a strong attack to stop your opponent feeling too comfortable pushing up with a pressing game. Valencia is tireless and is capable of doing something out of the ordinary at any time. I see this as an invitation for the gooners to come forward with a little less to worry about.

Thankfully DS signed Nene not matter what Sam thinks .

I thought I was a clumsy accident prone barsteward, but not even I have managed that kind of accident! Good news is I hear he reckons 2 weeks is more like it for recovery.

Makes you wonder, doesn't it! Apparently "a deep cut." Not even sure how you'd manage that, unless the cup/glass was on the floor and he stood on it... ? Only at West Ham is right!

It'll be defend for our lives, put up a bit of a fight, till they score, start attacking after that and then end up getting hit on the break. Allardyce will bemoan refereeing decisions and we'll come away with nothing.

New manager mate. It's very well us surmising or giving suggestions on team selection and how we "should" play, but until we change manager we're gonna get the Allardyce way. That'll mean more shrugging shoulders, feeling sorry for ourselves, moaning about referees, ear cupping, Nolan and I wouldn't be surprised to see Carroll start on crutches at some point before the end of the season.

James Tomkins has suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder in training. Possibly out for the season talk about pissing against the wind
