Best West Ham on loan player

This was a post I saw on a Facebook Group and generally were on the Jesse Lingard case ( probably due to our injury/AFCON crisis and the fact that he is a freebie.)
It actually got me to thinking and I can remember very few loanees actually. I recall getting excited when Robbie Keane came in but turned out disappointing to be honest, and I must admit I forgot about Dawson whose name was dropped further down the comments, probably because we ended up actually buying him.
So I wondered if you guys had any ideas on other players. For the record, I thought that our best loan signing ( very unpopular with the Hammers fans of the time as I recall) was David Speedie.

I think it was a loan? Paid him £1K a week which was about £999 too much!

Forgot about Speedie, got us and many others promoted, decent player!

I think we have had a few good ones, Carl Jenkinson was class, never really made the grade at Arse, Alex Song brought a bit of magic, loved Angela Lansbury, thought we should buy him and build a team around him... was there the night he played in goal against Blackpool... might have saved a pen? Again never developed at Arse.

The best (after Linz) probably Yossi... think on loan from Chavski? like Linz a Game Changer!!!

But Yossi, 2nd best? Nah. A great signing when we bought him but only played six games for us on his second stint here as a loanee from Chelsea, two off the bench and two he was subbed, no goals and to be honest, can't recall any game changing moments from in those six games.
Forgot about Jenkinson, that's a good shout, Shame he got that injury and Alex Song was just to good for the players around him.

Well it was not a winter window back then you could just buy and sell whenever you wanted...yup its Kitson&Hartson they were a good double act that saved our bacon specially in two monumental wins over chelski and spuds.

... cant recall which window but the two Paulo's .. Paolo di Canio and Paulo Wanchope in terms of impact.

i think Lomas may have joined at the same time as H&K?

Kalvin Phillips. Like Jesse, a player with a point to prove. Wonder how that will work out.

For the same reason Lingard signed Phillips wants to get into the England side and wants to prove a point to Pep that he is good enough.....happy it is only a loan though just hope Moyes can accept that and we dont have another Lingard summer saga on our hands
