Do we expect too much?

Over the many years we have become accustom to West Ham, the nearly boys, good football but not quite there in terms of the upper echelons of the "Big League"?

Well, the stats say we are the 20th most wealthy club in the World. In terms of attendance / ticket sales the 11th best supported team in the World.

We spend nearly £100M on new faces in the squad in the last transfer window.

So, the question must be, is it fair to accept that a team bottom of the third league should even come close to beating us?

I think we can discuss and debate the strategy of El Pel but at the end of the day each and every player that pulled on the shirt that night needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.

A win tomorrow and all is forgiven? Umm... not for me!

The FA Cup is special and this season, or more precisely right now, we are not in danger of the drop and a fantastic chance to push for silver and a European slot fades away... yet again.

You Accept that and if we had lost 1-0 and had done everything but score you just take it on the chin but to concede 4 goals against a team struggling to score in there league you then have to question the motivation of the players and clearly on the evidence that we all saw they could not be bothered....Trotting out Noble to then tell us all what we already new was pathetic....the F.A. Cup is too me the the best competition in the world and to just not be arsed to play for whatever reason is simply an insult to the fans and not good enough they should be docked there wages for that week(yeah that aint gonna happen)and like you i dont really care if we beat wolves and finish 7th in the league i mean what will happen an open top bus ride with a big number 7 in the players hands!!

Totally agree on all points! Best of the rest No7 means nothing compared to winning the FA cup!

A club our size, now being ranked in world statistics, facing a 3rd tier bottom of the league club, that ranks lower than a knats bollock in world ratings,a speck in the football world, and we let them humiliate us in a disgraceful fashion,it should not of happened, there is more to it behind the scenes,a black cloud called Storm Arnie,as I wrote yesterday in another post.It was like the team had gone on strike. So to conclude we didn't expect too much from this game,it wasn't any from the top four from the prem,or la liga,it was lowly Wimbledon.

Year after year we are full of hope from the start of the season, right up to the cups, sounds nasty I know lol, only to be let down, trouble is it don't get any better as you get older, fed up ranting.I wonder what it would be like to be top of the league and win it hey,a wonderful dream.

But there was a time when I never expected too much from the team as long as It was a good day out with plenty of banter...whatever your views on this new stadium, branding etc it seems to me that most modern day westham players have become some sort of fancy Dan's too big for their boots who are easy pickings for teams with a bit of old fashioned grit...something that we had in abundance back in the day

Have to agree with you there, our players are journeymen and have no grit or happy to make a fight of it, happy to capitulate etc etc

The humiliation was compelled by the fact it was done in front of a TV audience. Nothing like showing how little you really care in front of TV cameras and show it's just about the money

I agree 65,ive ranted enough about last Saturday on a few posts, but really if you had fell off the moon,in the vicinity of Wimbledon, you would of thought they were Barcelona and we were non league lol!!!!!!
