So obvious we won't be getting Barkley! Strange that they say we offered 140,000 a week yet failed to realise Everton will probably want a 50 fee, so that's not happening. Swap Valencia for his midfield partner maybe a good deal. McCarthy is it? A bit of bite there could be a decent back up to noble. As for Adrian going to Sunderland, I'm assuming they don't know we just took on an extended deal on Adrian's contract.

Just to think I thought my supervisor made up the best stories! I don't like McCarthy btw a bit too dirty and we never get the rub with refs (not that he would be coming to us) Barkley at £140k a week! geez what a load of old....! Lanzini don't get that and he IS worth it. We will hear all sorts of nonsense over the coming months and even though Pickford had (despite relegation) a very good season I do not think he will keep that level up next term. Zabaleta is a good catch for us as he is a solid rb and has great positional sense it will hopefully provide a good learning curve for young Sam Byram who I thought did well mostly when called upon.

That's my point Plaistow, McCarthy would stop us being bullied in games (which West Ham have often been guilty of) but I do agree with your point in getting the rub of the green from refs. We need a player who doesnt take any sh1t and then we can stop being such a push over.

I just love these sorts of headlines. The article says: "West Ham are joined by the likes of Crystal Palace, Southampton, Newcastle, West Brom and Newcastle in their pursuit of Sporting CP defender Ruben Semedo." I.e.: the mediocre player's agent wants a transfer to the premier league and all the "ambitious" teams are mentioned as place he might go for £20M. Hell, he's so in demand that Newcastle are competing with themselves over his signing. Never mind that the player's own club don't want him anymore. Never mind that there's no position West Ham need to fill LESS than central defender/defensive midfielder. We've "joined the race"!!! Crikey.

£8million its being reported reckon if we could get back the £10million we paid it would be a good deal....personally I think it was a panic buy in the first place and secondly he has already found it hard to show the kind of form he did at hull...maybe that was down to Bilic not playing him in the right area or maybe he just cant cut it at a higher profile club where he is expected to perform every week..harsh again maybe but just don't think he is a good fit for us

Both snodgrass and fonte were good ideas in a January window, we really should be looking for better overall. I don't care if we keep snodgrass but I'd say 8 million plus is worth taking even after only six months. Think snodgrass is ok as a squad player so I'm not worried too much on how bilic has used him. My big worry is if we get one or two decent strikers to nail down a first team place, bilic has to use them to their strengths. I'm not saying zaza was a great player but he probably would have been better with 2 upfront. So bilic don't just buy a player who you want, buy one that suits the way you want us to play! If we buy the city guy is he gona be right to play as a lone striker! Especially as a 20 year old. He will need decent support. It will be typical bilic to just throw him in just hoping he will swim, allowing him to be isolated and the crowd getting on his back. Destroying an excellent prospect before his 21 birthday.

I say we take the £8 million for Snodgrass and get Iheanacho. We need a playmaker too... Lanzini is quality but he doesn't have the same inclusive play that Payet did, he is great at going on runs and taking shots in the box but we need someone to provide the tricky flick-ons and keep the ball moving. Ayew up front against Burnley was doing this - maybe if we play him just behind Iheanacho, with Lanzini in the forward midfield role. When Antonio comes back, he will be on the wing and perhaps Feghouli on the other or Masuaku... Fonte only just manages to stay at the club for me, I haven't been overly impressed with him.

I think we need another

I think we need another creative midfielder, if nothing more than to use when Lanzini is injured. We really are buggered I creatively if Lanzini gets a major injury.
