Bryan(pop)Robson...David Cross...Paul Goddard...Frank McAvennie...Tony Cottee...Dean Ashton...Freddie Kanoute....just naming a few here who most West ham fans will have fond memories of along with the many nightmares such players as Frédéric Piquionne... Jonathan Calleri...Modibo Maïga...Nikica Jelavić...Marouane Chamakh...Benni McCarthy...Mido.
Just reading those names sends you into a cold sweat...but for me having seen all these players play and the T.C. Mcavennie double act that was without doubt the best strike force we have ever had in my lifetime i have to say Dean Ashton is my Favourite striker and the big What if comes about following that career ending injury on England duty...for a big fella he could score all kinds of goals and if he had kept playing and scoring as i don't doubt he would of then in true west ham traditions we would of promptly sold him and for peanuts to!...so who is your favourite striker? does not have to be any listed above could be any striker thats played for us the only condition here is you have to of seen them play.

Named em all there mac!Agree tottally about Deano what a bloody pity he had everything going for him,the curse of the england training session, only at westham

Bobby Zamora, lets not forget him,he put in many a shift, especially the playoffs,i do feel that Dean Ashton was cut short in his prime, and could of been a legend for us,but the Cottee and Mcavennie partnership was a force......David Cross though back in the day of standing in the North Bank, was a bit of a goal hanger wouldnt you all say,he did tuck a few away i give him that.

I salute Carlton Cole Mac,he may not of been all that clinical, but he turned out game after game, hardly ever crocked, would usually make double figures, did his best for us.

Dean Ashton would have got my vote if he'd managed to avoid that horrific injury and played for a few years. At 7.5mill he would have proved to have been a steal. So him aside, DiCanio for me. Also a soft spot for Samassi Abooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Sir Geoff Hurst and Frankie Mac. Saw Sir Geoff Hurst play a few times, John McGrath tried to take him out of the game in his usual manor, Mmmm don't think so matey boy. April '71 Southampton (Ron Davies) 1-2 West Ham (Tommy Taylor) and wait for it......GEOFF HURST)
Frankie was also my favourite.

All the favourites already been mentioned apart from Tevez - great player, dodgy circumstances... Think Vaz Te deserves a mention - was great for us in the Champs and did his job well, scored some good goals for us

How come none of you have mentioned the great Sir Geoff? For a few seasons after 1966 he was a truly World Class player in that he would have got into any squad in the world. So many of those names posted here are not on the same planet as him.
Also, no one has mentioned Budgie Byrne either. 108 goals in 206 appearances.

Andy Carroll and Deano are my "if only". Can't believe we kept Carlton Cole on for so long. Dickens was shit too
